LoL 14.15 Mid Lane Tier List: Best Ranked Midlaner Champ Picks

Akali's adjustments made her absolutely OP! She's way better early on and not as reliant on her Ult as she used to be. This is definitely the boost she needed.

Riot's favorite boy got a buff in the most recent League of Legends patch. He's back to being insanely OP, especially in lower Ranked elos.

PROS:

• Huge carry potential in low elo
• Annoying lane bully
• Dominates team fights

CONS:

• High ban and pick rate
• Low elo players don't play him well (huge feed potential)

If you've been following our Midlaner tier lists, you would know that Yone and Yasuo always chart together. By increasing his Q lethality, LoL devs skyrocketed him to the S-tier.

Aurora wasn't scary upon release, with players still trying to figure out how to play her properly. However, by the end of patch 14.14 she was a menace. Even after a serious nerf she's still great.

• Mana-dependant

Lux is THE CHAMPION as both midlaner and support. The Lady of Luminosity offers everything, from damage, shield, to short cooldowns and utility. Lux can carry you out of low elo easily, as long as you know how to play her well.

PROS:

• Great burst damage
• Easy to play
• Short cooldowns late and mid-game

CONS:

• Squishy
• Skillshot-reliant

In patch 14.14 Vex was underrated and a menace because many LoL players don't know how to counter her. She's still amazing but in this update, her popularity and ban rate is growing, so she isn't as niche. Vex is a hyper-mobile assassin, which is especially good against mobile champions, such as the currently OP Yasuo, who trigger her passive.

CONS:

• Squishy
• Mana hungry

Fizz is the king of mobility, who can absolutely drive his opponents insane. Pick him up, as he's especially good in low elo, where players aren't that good at countering him.

PROS:

• Amazing escape
• Very mobile
• Lane Bully

CONS:

• Squishy
• Dependent on items

No changes when it comes to Bard - he's still doing lots of damage while also being very easy, and fun to play. 

PROS:

• Amazing AoE damage
• Easy to pick up and master

CONS:

• Bad utility
• Easily out-sustained 

Veigar is an easy-to-play champion who's absolutely been killing it on the Summoner's Rift thanks to his burst and E ability.

PROS:

• Limitless AP gain
• CC
• Insane burst and damage

CONS:

• Squishy
• Mana hungry
• Easily-avoidable CC

Xerath is not only one of the most annoying supports you can play against but also an insane midlaner. It seems like his abilities never stop coming your way! Try picking him up with the buffed dark harvest.

Patch 14.15 might have nerfed Irelia's health regen but it buffed her health, making her even more stable in Ranked.

• Easy CC
• Great damage

CONS:

• Reliant on CC
• Difficult to master

LeBlanc is still going strong in patch 14.15. Well, she waited long enough, she might as well enjoy it!

PROS:

• Good damage
• Very mobile

CONS:

• Squishy
• Mana hungry

Galio is an underrated but very good tanky mid-lane pick.

PROS:

• Great AoE 
• Crowd control
• Tanky

CONS:

• Long cooldowns
• Outpoked

Aurelion Sol had a good run in the S-tier but it's finally over after the nerf in patch 14.15. The Q buff isn't making it up for the other changes but he's still a very decent champion!

PROS:

• Great in team fights
• Solo carry potential

CONS:

• Weak early game
• Mana-hungry

Yup, the toxic low elo trio is back - Yone, Yasuo, and Zed are here to go 20/0/0, thanks to the buffs in patch 14.15.

PROS:

• Mobility
• Hyper carry
• Insane damage

CONS:

• Short range
• Weak early on

Despite Diana's excellent roaming, she's losing her OP status in this patch, landing herself in the A tier, which is still pretty good.

PROS:

• Mobility
• Roaming
• One combo and the enemy is a goner
• Great in team fights

CONS:

• No easy way out once you go all in

Vlad is super good in this patch because he can build both of the buffed items Stormsurge and Cosmic Drive.

Similar to Diana, Malzahar is leaving the S-Tier but he's still very good in Ranked. He might start off a little weak but he scales very well and it's amazing once you get good items.

PROS:

• Good scaling 
• Great wave clear

CONS:

• Weak before level 6
• Squishy

Another patch goes by and, no, we won't shut up about how fun and easy it is to play Neeko. She's a really rewarding champion if you give her the time.

PROS:

• Great roaming and CC
• Amazing wave clear 
• Easy to play

CONS:

• Falls behind easily and can't get good again

Swain is doing some amazing damage and he's very satisfying to play as. His win rate is growing which is even better

PROS:

• Versatile
• Lots of AoE damage
• Great in team fights

CONS:

• Mana-dependent and mana-hungry
• Immobile

It's been a while since we've seen Viktor on this mid-lane tier list. It's good that he's back in the LoL meta. Viktor was definitely a forgotten champion but he's performing decently as of now. 

Katarina is significantly better in this LoL update but keep in mind that she's a very hard to play champion. Kata can carry like no other but it's a challenge to get there.

PROS:

• High snowball and carry potential

CONS:

• Very difficult to master, quite easy to feed with her

Ahri is not too good and not too bad either, feeling a bit weaker depending on the matchup. She's better in patch 14.15 than in patch 14.14 and her ban rate is back to normal.

PROS:

• Great wave clear
• Amazing mobility

CONS:

• Squishy
• Uses a lot of mana and she's heavily reliant on it

Ekko is a decent choice for mid, scaling well and having insane burst damage. He's also extremely hard to kill if you play safe.

Zoe is bringing some insane damage to the table and she's very fun to play. Keep in mind she's a little bit harder to pick up.

• Carry potential

CONS:

• Squishy
• Difficult to master

Sylas finally made it to the higher tiers on the midlaner list and immediately got hit by nerfs. Sorry, Sylas mains!

PROS:

• Versatile
• Duelist

CONS:

• Short range

Cassiopeia's base mana was buffed but her mana growth was severely reduced. Her Q, W, and E also got some nerfs, making her perform 'just okay' in League of Legends.

With high poke and AoE damage, Zigs can be strong even from behind. He's also very fun to play and can be quite the lane bully!

PROS:

• Great late game
• Amazing zoning

CONS:

• Squishy
• Mana hungry

Ryze is a versatile champion which can fit in any team comp. He's an excellent split pusher which is something important when it comes to winning.

Ever since Jayce got a buff to his Q in patch 14.14, he's been in the B tier. Seems like here's here to stay.

PROS:

• Good poke
• Unexpected pick at this point

CONS:

• Hard to play
• Very weak currently

Syndra is a versatile champion, offering some amazing clears, burst, and, well, great skins.

PROS:

• Great in team fights
• Lane bully

CONS:

• Squishy
• No mobility
• Relies on skill-shots

Annie is a classic League of Legends champion who's always decent. You can't go wrong with her if you have a reliable team. However, solo carrying with her will be very hard.

PROS:

• Versatile
• Stun

CONS:

• Easily avoidable Ult

Heimer is clearly not performing as well as he used to. He might be easy to pick but there's no payoff here. He was never the solo carry type of champion anyway.

• Good wave clear
• Great poke and zoning
• Amazing AoE and CC

CONS:

• Squishy
• Can't carry
• Useless without turrets

She's a very popular choice for ADC and Midlaner but she's not as strong as she used to be. Plus, picking up an ADC for mid-lane is not always a great choice.

PROS: 

• Huge range
• Great poke

CONS:

• Difficult early game

Smolder is not the type of midlaner or ADC you should go for unless you main him and you really wanna do it.

Hwei has been in a weird state for a while and Riot seems to be keeping him quite weak. He's still a very versatile champion but you shouldn't pick him up unless you main him.

PROS:

• Good wave clear

CONS: 

• Squishy
• Hard to master

Karma is in a very mediocre state, compared to how good she used to be.

PROS: 

• Versatile
• Shield
• Good Q

CONS: 

• Squishy

Lucian is another LoL champions who's been in a weird state in Season 14. He's not that good as an ADC either. Bad news for Lucian mains...

PROS:

• Amazing duelist
• Very mobile

CONS:

• Short range

No changes here - Tristana is nowhere near the OP status she had as an ADC and midlaner, ever since the changes in patch 14.14. Currently, she has the lowest win rate in the mid-lane.

Corki might be fun but he's a definite pass for the mid-lane. 

Azir takes the first place as the mid-laner with lowest win rate in LoL patch 14.14. He's absolutely not doing well this season!

Ezreal was weak anyway, but in patch 14.15 he got the chops because he was too strong in pro play.
