- S-Tier: The best champions you can use to ensure you are always victorious.
- A-Tier: Great options but lacking just slightly either in terms of damage or utility.

S-Tier Support Champions
Lulu
Lulu was already a good support thanks to her protection and buffs are incredible. The change to her passive damage gives her an even bigger boost, making her one of the best choices in the current LoL meta.
PROS:
- Great engage and disengage
- Strong early game
CONS:
- Squishy
- Relies on the team, useless 1v1
Lux
With insane damage, a shield, short cooldowns, and lots of utility, Lux is still OP. Luden's Companion's buff gives her even more power to bully the enemy team.
PROS:
- Great burst damage
- Easy to play
- Short cooldowns late and mid-game
CONS:
- Squishy
- Skillshot-reliant
Senna
What makes Senna special among the supports is that her passive can scale indefinitely. This gives her a huge boost which can easily be turned into a carried lane, why not even game?
PROS:
- Versatile
- Huge carry potential
- Not reliant on the ADC
CONS:
- Squishy
- Slow AA
Seraphine
Seraphine offers players a shield, heal, charm, and solid damage in her kit. This makes her quite versatile and very fun to play in Ranked.
PROS:
- Versatile kit
- Strong Utility
- Heal and shield
- Low pick and ban rate
CONS:
- Squishy
Milio
Slow and steady, Milio made his way to the S-tier. He's a stable and reliable champion pick for Ranked.
PROS:
- Lots of utility
- Fun to play
CONS:
- Low CC
- Reliant on ADC

Thresh
Thresh is one of the few tanky supports in patch 14.18 that will keep their relevancy. He brings enough crowd control, mobility, engagement, peel, and utility to survive among the best in the current meta.
PROS:
- Good engage
- Tanky
CONS:
- Long cooldowns
Pyke
Similar to Thresh, Pyke is still among the OP champions in Patch 14.18. His healing is absolutely insane and very annoying to play against.
PROS:
- Insane damage
- Stealth
CONS:
- Useless when behind
- Bad at pushing
Nami
No changes here - Nami is keeping her S-Tier position, bringing some very good healing, fuffs, and crowd control to the Summoner's Rift. She'll surely turn the tide on any team fight!
PROS:
- Fun to play
- Helps with sustain
CONS:
- Squishy
- Relies on items
Janna
Janna is making her way to the S-tier in the most recent League of Legends patch. Don't let her squishy and cute looks fool you - she's dangerous when played correctly, especially in low elo, where players don't consider how powerful support mages can be.
PROS:
- One of the best shields
- Great peeling
CONS:
- Squishy
- Low range
Xerath
The new item changes feel amazing on Xerath, boosting him to the S-tier. He has damage, a huge range, and a slow. A well-positioned Xerath can dominate the game, making your opponents rage quit.
PROS:
- Long range
- Insane burst and DPS
CONS:
- Squishy
- Dependent on items

A-Tier Support Champions
Leona
After dominating the bot lane for a few patches, Leona got nerfed in the most recent one. Her base armor goes down to 43, as tanky sports start losing their relevancy in favor of mages. However, she's still very reliable with a great stun.
PROS:
- Great roaming
- Lots of CC
CONS:
- Teem reliant
- Not versatile at all - all you do is engage
Sona
As a mage, Sona is a great option for Ranked as of now. She offers players damage, utility, and crowd control. All of this makes her very versatile. However, she's still very squishy and doesn't have carry potential, so we'll keep her in the A-tier for now.
PROS:
- Healing
- Stun
- Great in most team comps
CONS:
- Squishy
- Mana-dependant
Zyra
Zyra leaves the B-tier and lands among the A-tier supports. She's gaining back the influence she lost a few patches ago. In the right hands and with the right matchup she can easily be considered S-tier, offering amazing zoning and poke.
PROS:
- Versatile
- Easy to pick up
CONS:
- Lots of kills and farm stealing
- No mobility
Rell
Just like Leona, Rell is getting hit by a nerf but this one is way more serious. Her E is changing a lot and we can see her performing less well although she's still very good.
Morgana
Although she's keeping her insane shield and stun, Morgana lands in the A-tier. Don't get us wrong - she's OP but there are other support champions who seem to be more impactful without depending on the ADC being decent.
PROS:
- One of the best shields in the game
- Stun and AoE
CONS:
- Squishy
Braum
Braum staying in the A-Tier. He offers ADCs quite useful slows and stuns. He also does some very decent peeling.
PROS:
- Roaming
- Great peel
CONS:
- No sustain
- No poke
Soraka
Soraka won't be seeing changes in her tier list placements in this LoL patch. She's very fun to play and offers amazing healing, both per champion and for the whole team, thanks to her global ult. Soraka is definitely a great choice for a reckless team that tends to feed.
PROS:
- Global ult
- One of the best healers
CONS:
- Squishy

Tahm Kench
A tanky pick with unique abilities. Tahm Kench will bring the utility you need in both laning and team fights.
Rakan
Rakan is definitely not among the stars of the current patch but we do appreciate his ability to engage and disengage easily. He's a versatile support, performing well in the laning phase and team fights.
PROS:
- Mobility
- Amazing engagement and disengagement
- Roaming
CONS:
- No damage
Nautilus
The Celestial Opposition nerf from patch 14.17 is not good for Nautilus but it's not bad enough to take his A-Tier spot.
Blitzcrank
With tank supports being less useful than mage supports, we wonder if Blitzcrank will keep being as scary in LoL players' eyes or if his ban rate will go down.
PROS:
- Strong early on
- Amazing hook which is feared by many players
CONS:
- Completely reliant on his hook
- High mana costs and cooldowns
Bard
Bard is definitely not his best version in the current beta. His good mixed damage doesn't seem to be enough for him to be considered really good. Bard is somewhere on the line between A-list and B-list.

B-Tier Support Champions
Hwei
Hwei's allied shield got buffed in patch 14.18. It's definitely not something crazy and game-changing but it's a nice boost for him.
PROS:
- Versatile
- Good wave clear
CONS:
- Squishy
- Hard to master
Shen
The buff to Shen's passive shield raised his popularity as a support option once more.
Maokai
As we mentioned before, tanky supports are losing their relevancy in the most recent LoL patch. Maokai is one of the champions who is being demoted in this tier list because of his huge nerf.
PROS:
- Versatile and flexible builds
- Offers engage, disengage, sustain and poke
CONS:
- A weaker landing phase than some supports
Yuumi
If you've been following our support tier lists, you might know that we're not huge Yuumi fans here. As we've said before, she'll never be THAT girl and she'll always be that very reliant on the team and ADC champion, who needs to be carried.
Alistar
Alistar will probably be way less popular in this update, as he lacks a lot compared to many other supports.
Taric
Taric's kit offers a mix of healing, crowd control, and invulnerability, but there's a lot more to want from him in this current meta.
PROS:
- Decent shield and healing
- Amazing in team fights
CONS:
- Mana-hungry
- Weak early game
Swain
No changes here, Swain is still just decent, despite the potential his crowd control, sustain, and significant damage output offer.
PROS:
- Versatile
- Lots of AoE damage
- Great in team fights
CONS:
- Mana-dependent and mana-hungry
- Immobile
Vel'Koz
Vel'Koz has great poke, crowd control, damage output, and a long range. However, he's quite squishy and doesn't shine bright in the current League of Legends meta.
PROS:
- Huge range
- Great in team fights
CONS:
- Squishy
- No escape
Zilean
Zilean is stuck in this tier but this is still a pretty decent place for him, considering he was very underrated and forgotten a few patches ago.
PROS:
- Good mobility
- Great slow
CONS:
- Squishy
Neeko
Neeko is a versatile and very fun champion pick. She can be an impactful support in the right hands, blending crowd control, damage, and utility.
PROS:
- Great roaming and CC
- Amazing wave clear
- Easy to play
CONS:
- Falls behind easily and can't get good again
Brand
Brand is doing slightly better in LoL patch 14.18 but we don't want to push it and move him into A-tier. Let's see how things work out for him in the next few updates...
PROS:
- Amazing AoE damage
- Easy to pick up and master
CONS:
- Bad utility
- Easily out-sustained
C-Tier Support Champions
Renata Glask
Renata is the embodiment of C-tier support - not strong, not weak either, but very unimpactful in the game. Riot really isn't doing much for this character and she's not a popular choice anyway.
PROS:
- Great in team fights
- Good poke
CONS:
- Short range
- Squishy
- Slow
Teemo
Teemo is doing a little better as a support in the current meta but he's definitely not an optimal option for Ranked.
PROS:
- Easy to pick up and master
- Lots of damage
CONS:
- Squishy
- Bad in team fights
Malphite
Malphite might have gotten a small buff to his shield strength but it doesn't do much for him, as he still lacks the same level of utility and versatility that many other supports have.
Heimerdinger
Heimer is doing ok in the metta but as a support, you're setting up the team. We know that technically he's supposed to work like Zyra but they're so different!

D-Tier Support Champions
Annie
In theory, Annie needs to be good - she's a mage with lots of damage and a stun. However, in practice she's not a good support.
Anivia
Anivia's ice walls won't be helping any ADC in the current support meta.
Camille
Camille is known as a top laner, despite her short-lived support moment. Her kit provides a mix of mobility, crowd control, and damage but it's not enough compared to what other supports bring to the table.
