Rejoice League of Legends players as Riot Games has unveiled the newest champion coming to Summoner's Rift, namely, Ambessa. This comes as no surprise given how Arcane Season 2 is kicking off on November 9th, 2024. Riot has been teasing the next champion for months, and after a small preview of Ambessa in the latest video, we can now see her full kit.
With that being said, let us take a look at Ambessa's abilities so you can get a better understanding of what you will be playing or facing in League of Legends.

Ambessa Abilities
We will take a look at League of Legends' next champion Ambessa as well as her abilities:
Drakehound's Step (Passive)
- When Ambessa casts an ability, issuing a move or Attack order will cause her to dash after the Ability finishes.
- Casting an ability also gives Ambessa a charge, which increases her attack range and speed. Attacks consume a charge to deal additional damage and restore Energy.
Cunning Sweep (Q1)
- Ambessa sweeps her blades forward in a semi-circle, dealing extra damage to enemies at the edge. If you hit an enemy, it readies Sundering Slam.
Sundering Slam (Q2)
- Sundering Slam (Recast): Ambessa slams down her blades, dealing bonus damage to the first enemy hit.
Repudiation (W)
- Ambessa gains a shield, braces herself, then slams the ground. If she braces herself from damage by an enemy champion, large monster, or structure, she does more damage with her slam.
Lacerate (E)
- Ambessa whips her chains in a circle, damaging and briefly slowing enemies. Using Drakehound’s Step (Passive) will trigger an additional strike.
Public Execution (R)
- Passive: Ambessa gains Armor Penetration and her Abilities heal her.
- Active: Ambessa becomes unstoppable and blinks to the farthest enemy champion in a line. She suppresses the target before slamming them for damage and a Stun.
And that covers all of Ambessa's abilities. She is suited for the top lane, but might find success in the jungle and mid lane. Riot Games has finally released a new energy-based champion, and although she has a lot of mobility, she seems to have a very aggressive all-in playstyle.
