LoL Skarner Rework Skins: New Prices, Lore, Splash Art

The Skarner rework will be available with League of Legends patch 14.7, scheduled for release on April 3rd. The champion is receiving an improved model and new abilities. There's so much to unpack, but in this article, we will discuss the improved Skarner skins, their backstories, and prices. Read more about the rework here.

New Skarner Skins: Splash Art and New Lore

Not all Skarner skins had lore or a short story to accompany the art. Upon the release of the champion rework in LoL, all of them will have backstories. Some of the existing short bios have been reworked. There's an expected change in the price and tier for the Earthrune Skarner Skin, which needs to catch up with recent skins.

Earthrune Skarner Skin

Price: 750 RP

Earthrune Skarner used to be the guardian of an ancient civilization that collapsed. Skarner hopes that one day he and his companions can rebuild everything lost. Until then, he has promised himself to remain vigilant to protect all that he has left, chasing away trespassers who dare threaten the ruins filled with magic.

The VGU for this skin has been updated, elevating its tier to Deluxe. This results in an adjustment of the price accordingly.

Battlecast Alpha Skarner Skin

Price: 1820 RP

The splash art for this Legendary Skarner skin has not been released yet. The lore has been slightly altered. All Battlecasts fear the Alpha, the first of its kind. Plagued by strange voices in his brain, he is fueled with rage.

Guardian of the Sands Skarner Skin

Price: 975 RP

There's a slight alteration in the first sentence, as Skarner is no longer referred to as a 'scorpion' but as a 'sovereign'. Here's the full text:

Skarner, the forsaken sovereign—ancient guardian of the sands, we invoke thee to protect us from an evil of our own making. Let no man tread upon these hallowed grounds, lest in your rage they are torn asunder.

Sandscourge Skarner Skin

Price: 975 RP

Travelers shouldn't trust the whispers of the prairie winds. Lost souls hear the Demon of the Old Deserts, the supposed savior of the Wayward, long before they feel his hellish tremor. His voice rings out, reminding them of safety, of protection. Reject this demon's tune - or join his mummified masses.

Cosmic Sting Skarner Skin

Price: 1350 RP

This Skarner skin probably won't receive a reworked lore. Here's the current one:

An ancient creature of deep, primal wisdom from before the forming of the first galaxies, Skarner is composed of the very elements that are the building blocks of all the cosmos. His kind are the radiant antithesis of the ancient, squirming things that lurk in the deep darkness of space, and beyond it.

When will the Skarner Reworked Skins be Released?

League of Legends players can expect the reworked Skarner skins to be released with patch 14.7 (April 3).
