Manor Lords is a city-building simulation that has aspects of real-time strategy. Slavic Magic has worked hard to create a combination of historically accurate gameplay and an enjoyable experience for its fans. You are the ruling lord and will start Manor Lords with a small camp of settlers. It is your job to build a village and make it grow into a bustling city to be proud of.
By unlocking new technologies, you can find new ways of making your wealth rise, giving you the resources to expand. One such technology is the apple orchard. There are lots of people that would love to see fields of apple trees grow in their settlement but it is not clear how to create your orchard. That’s what we are here for.

How to Grow an Orchard in Manor Lords
When you have unlocked the Orchardry Development, you may think that you can build an orchard as you would any building but that is not the case. You will need to have a large burgage plot available or you have to construct a house that has a sizable extension plot.
Turning the land into an orchard will cost 50 regional wealth. Due to the steep investment, make sure you think it through. It will take a while before you can earn some serious profit from the apple trees. It takes three years for the orchard to grow to its full potential. Realistically it should take longer but Manor Lords has to make it enjoyable after all.

Until the trees have grown to full maturity, your output will be significantly reduced but when the three years have passed, you can make some good money. Consider this before you take the plunge and payout for the apple trees. As long as you have a family living in the house, the orchard will look after itself and you won’t have to worry about maintenance.
There isn’t any upgrade for the orchards yet and we don’t know if Slavic Magic will introduce one at a later. What upgrades can you have for trees? I’m sure the developer will think of something.
That’s everything you need to know about unlocking orchards and growing apple trees in Manor Lords. If you are willing to make the investment, in three years you will be enjoying a decent profit. Until then, you will be playing the waiting game. I hope this helps. Feel free to check out our other Manor Lords guides below.
