Thor isn't a weak character, but he's so difficult to master that most players either give up on trying or simply say that his abilities are useless. If you know how to use this Hero, you'll have the potential to win every fight, but at this point, it just takes too long, and it's often not worth the effort. Overall, he's mobile, flexible, and has a strong burst. If you like challenges, give him a try.

Black Panther is one of the most extreme characters in Marvel Rivals - you either use your full ability rotation to the maximum or you die. Simple. However, unless you're a master of the game, we recommend shifting your focus to other Heroes.

The developers had some great ideas about Storm, but what's on paper is very different than what we see in reality. She can buff herself and her teammates, but this is useless when she can't stay alive for more than 30 seconds in a fight. Moreover, she's very slow and doesn't deal a lot of damage.

Wolverine attacks quickly, and he's hard to kill. Although he can be annoying to the opposite team, if they learn his all-or-nothing approach, they will easily take him down. Thankfully, he's very effective in 1v1 fights, especially against characters who cannot zone him out. If we want to focus on his raw damage output, he's amazing.

Peni Parker isn't a bad choice, but she is often considered a very situational Hero in Marvel Rivals. This is due to her abilities being mostly useful when she can wrap her net around a wall, for example, and she usually needs the perfect circumstances to be useful. In other words, she can be excellent, as long as the stars have aligned.

Magik is a very fun character, as she can move through different dimensions and summon demons to help her wipe out her opponents. She relies a bit too much on melee attacks, and she's slow, but her damage output is relatively good, which can save you in some situations. The bad news is that we can't rely only on pure strength.

• Can hit multiple enemies at once

CONS:

• Weak Ultimate

Cloak and Dagger are very similar to Squirrel Girl, and that's why they are so close in terms of ranks. However, they have a vision obstruction wall that can be useful against enemies like Hawkeye, and their healing abilities are okay. The problem is that they're weak compared to other characters.

• Can blind enemies

CONS:

• Can't heal and deal damage simultaneously

Squirrel Girl is one of the very few Heroes in Marvel Rivals who can throw grenades, and even though her projectiles lack speed, they deal a lot of damage once they land. However, she is weak against flying characters like Iron Man, and her Ultimate can be easily avoided by most players.

PROS:

• High AoE damage

CONS:

• Useless Ultimate

Captain America has a ranged shield, and he's one of the best tanks in Marvel Rivals. His disadvantage lies in his inability to support his team and his inconsistent shield bounce. Generally, the only way to make this character more effective is by pairing him with Thor or someone who has higher utility for the team.

PROS:

• Good mobility

CONS:

• Not a good team player

Although Hela was one of the strongest DPS characters in the beta, she was significantly nerfed, so she's now fighting to keep her spot in the B-tier category. If you want to deal damage at range and escape fights quickly, you can use Hela, despite Heroes such as Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye being generally better options.

• Can easily stun enemies

CONS:

• Relies too much on precise aim

Iron Man is effective against melee teams, and he can shoot even the strongest enemies from above. However, even though he can fly, he doesn't shine with his speed, and his Ultimate has been nerfed a lot since the beta version of the game. He is easy to take down, but if you take advantage of tall buildings, you'll be able to survive for a long time.

• Slow

Hulk has been buffed since the beta version of Marvel Rivals, and he currently has one of the best shields in the entire game. Unfortunately, he has a lot of weaknesses, including often reverting to Bruce and losing matches immediately. His Ultimate can also leave him vulnerable after use.

CONS:

• Ultimate leaves him vulnerable to enemy attacks

Namor works similarly to Loki, but he has no healing abilities and a lower damage output. His wall of turrets can be useful, but apart from that, he isn't that effective. However, if you insist on using him, you can pair him with Luna Snow, who buffs his abilities and makes him way more helpful.

Rocket Raccoon might lack damage, but his healing abilities are highly effective and easy to use. Don't let his size fool you; he's one of the best team-ups in the entire game, so if you're ready to play as a team with other characters, you'll love him.

Groot isn't flexible or strong when you compare him to other tanks, but even with the delay on his primary fire, he has a lot of potential when he's playing with the right team. However, be aware that he's useful only in specific circumstances, and you need a lot of skill to control him.

Mantis isn't good for solo queue matches, and her primary fire could use some buffs. Fortunately, her Ultimate can boost any ally's damage output, including her own, which can give you a huge advantage in all combat situations, especially if the opponents aren't aware of this ability.

• Can't hit fast-moving targets

Psylocke has high mobility, and her stealth, DPS, and Ultimate can easily turn her into a killing machine. She's especially useful for 1v1 fights. If her range weren't so short and she could work a little bit better without relying so much on her teammates, she would have easily made it to the S-tier category.

Black Widow knows how to get rid of close-range enemies, and she deals a good amount of damage. Moreover, she can kill her opponents fast if you learn how to control her rifle. She might not be as good as other characters of the same category, but she's definitely not a bad choice.

• Can't do one-shot headshots

Doctor Strange is great for solo players, as he has a huge health bar and a solid shield that can protect him even more against enemy attacks. However, keep in mind that he requires you to manage resources well. If you don't place his portal at the perfect time, you'll risk losing the entire game for your team. In any case, he can be a major problem for all opponents.

Winter Soldier has low ammo capacity, and his damage output isn't particularly impressive, but he earns his spot in the A-tier category through his abilities for aggressive attacks and single-target lockdown. He is useful against Heroes like Spider-Man, who aim to kill the support characters, because Winter Soldier can protect them.

• Strong single-target lockdown

• Relies too much on his hooks

Have you ever played Call of Duty? The Punisher is very similar to the characters there, and he has a nice rifle, a shotgun, and a powerful turret that can help you kill almost everyone who dares to stand in your way. Most targets in Marvel Rivals are very difficult to hit, but with his weapons, escaping isn't that easy.

Iron Fist is a new character in the roster of Marvel Rivals, and he might not excel at any range, but he's the only Hero with such incredible self-healing abilities. Moreover, he can parry attacks and throw his fists extremely fast. If you like playing solo, Iron Fist is your guy.

• High burst damage

CONS:

• No range

If you're new to Marvel Rivals, don't hesitate to choose Jeff the Land Shark. He isn't hard to control, and his bubbles amplify his healing abilities like nobody's business. He can often be vulnerable to attacks, but this happens mainly when his opponents fight from close range. If you want to pair him well, we suggest choosing Luna Snow as his partner.

It's no surprise that Spider-Man has insane mobility, and he's very difficult to get rid of. He can't deal any significant damage to most DPS Heroes, but he can easily take down support characters, which makes him a valuable member of any team. Moreover, his Ultimate can neutralize enemy Ultimates without any problems.

• Very hard to hit

CONS:

• Difficult to get used to

Yes, Adam Warlock is considered weak, and his healing abilities are pretty bad, but he can deal a lot of damage with both his primary and secondary fire. He's so powerful that he doesn't need an Ultimate to wipe out the entire team. If you see him on the enemy squad, we recommend killing him first so you don't have to take so much damage.

Scarlet Witch has the highest utility of all DPS Heroes because she gets temporary immunity that helps her escape dangerous situations, and she doesn't have to aim to deal damage. Even though her burst is quite low, she's a solid choice as long as you learn how to properly use her abilities to your advantage.

• Consistent damage

• Her Ultimate often leaves her vulnerable

If you like dealing damage to your enemies, Star-Lord would be perfect for you. He's one of the most suitable Heroes for beginners, as he's easy to get used to. He can fly around the battlefield and shoot in every direction. Unfortunately, he's not very good at killing long-range damage dealers because they can slam him down on the ground while he's in mid-air.

• Keeps melee heroes out of range

CONS:

• Weak ultimate

Loki can deceive even the most experienced players, as he can teleport, stack clones, and deal huge damage to his enemies. One of his best skills is the ability to transform into other Heroes, so if you have good knowledge of how everyone's powers work, you'll become unstoppable.

• High DMG output

CONS:

• Difficult to master

Magneto is extremely difficult to kill, and he is one of the best in terms of protecting his teammates. Yes, he has a low base HP, but considering the amount of tools he has, this shouldn't be a problem. Additionally, even if he's the only tank on the team, you'll be fine because he has a shield that can block any attack.

• Amazing ranged damage

• Very slow

Hawkeye can dismantle an entire backline from a huge distance, and even though he doesn't have a lot of mobility, he can deal huge damage. Keep in mind that if you manage to land a headshot with Hawkeye, it'll lead to immediate death every time. However, you need to have a very good aim if you're planning on choosing him.

Moon Knight excels in throwing Ankhs and bouncing projectiles off of them, which gives him a very consistent burst that lands on almost every occasion. He also has a grappling hook and a glide. When he wants to, he can use his Ankhs to pull enemies into the center, which works very well with his huge AoE ultimate.

• Enemies can easily learn his pattern of attack

Luna Snow rewards precise aim, and she can not only deal insane amounts of damage but also heal her allies. Moreover, her passive will help you move faster than ever and figure out who needs help immediately. If you want to pair her with other characters, we recommend choosing Jeff, but she can also do extremely well by herself. Last, but not least, she's perfect for dealing consistent damage.

PROS:

• Passive makes her almost invincible

CONS:

• No vertical mobility

Venom is hands down the best Hero in Marvel Rivals, and he is the most powerful character in the Vanguard class. He has 800 base health, and his mobility is more than impressive. Additionally, his shield grants up to 900 temporary HP, and his Ultimate has no equal when it comes to enhancing his protection. However, be aware that he doesn't have a good range.
