There are two distinct types of Ailments that can affect your characters differently. Physical Ailments are usually conditions that prevent you from regenerating HP and MP, as well as damaging you over time. It's important to heal these as soon as you can, because they persist even after the battle has ended. Mental Ailments only last until the battle ends, but their effects are severe, and fighting without curing them might prove impossible.
