Some of you might have already completed Metaphor: ReFantazio, and are looking to start a New Game Plus, but feel apprehensive about it. We're here to help you with everything you need to know about starting a New Game Plus (NG+), so stick around and find out!

How to Start New Game Plus

Complete the game - regardless of which ending you get.
After the cut scene, you'll get a prompt for a New Game Plus.
Select a Save File to start anew - NG+ will be marked with a star.

What Carries Over in New Game Plus?

Archetypes Status: All your Archetype progress will be transferred onto your NG+ save file, so you can start the game stronger and get more powerful weapons early in the game.
Royal Virtues: All your Royal Virtue progress will be transferred onto your NG+ save file; spend some free time that you'd usually allot to upgrade them.
MAG & Reeves: All currencies will be transferred onto your NG+ save.
Items: You'll start NG+ with your entire previous inventory, with the exception of some quest items like keys and items you only get through progression.
Scanned Enemies: You'll be able to see all your previously scanned enemies and know their weaknesses and affinities ahead of time.
Memorandum: All your important notes saved in the Memorandum will be transferred onto your NG+ save file.
Gold Beetles: Your Gold Beetles progress is also transferred, so you'll be able to collect them all, including the ones you missed.
Total Play Time: Your Total Play Time will remain counting from the moment you started your first save, uninterrupted.

New Features in New Game Plus

New Difficulty Level: NG+ will unlock the Regicide difficulty, which is the most challenging setting.
Redscale Dragon Superboss: An exclusive level 99 superboss you can challenge on all difficulty settings except Storyteller. We recommend you reach at least level 70 before you battle the superboss by examining the Book of Apocalypse in the Akademeia.
