As with all RPGs, gear and items are one of the core components that will either make or break a game. No Rest for the Wicked has a rather unique approach to gear both in terms of weapons and armor.
Since Moon Studios is aiming to release a fresh take on the Action-RPG genre, the game will feature a lot of different systems and mechanics that will separate itself from the rest of the competition.
We will take a look at what we can expect from the gear system in No Rest for the Wicked so we can figure out whether the game will be enjoyable and hold enough incentive in terms of replayability.

No Rest for the Wicked: Gear System
No Rest for the Wicked will have 4 different types of rarity. This will possibly apply to both armor and weapons you find or craft in the game. Each item will have a unique move set as well as runes that you can extract and attach to different pieces of gear.
White Items (Common)
These items will differ from other ARPGs as they will not be trash loot but rather the most customizable rarity.
Blue Items (Rare)
These items will offer only positive enchantments that will help your character become stronger.
Purple Items (Cursed)
These items will offer very strong positive enchantments, however, they will also come with a cursed enchantment that will possibly lower your stats or add a negative debuff to compensate for the positive enchantments.
Gold Items (Unique)
These items are specifically handcrafted by the game's designers and will offer unique enchantments that will be very hard to obtain.

No Rest for the Wicked Armor Gear System
Armor will also play a huge role in terms of gameplay in No Rest for the Wicked. If the weight of your gear and build is light, then you will be quickstep out of an enemy's way. Quicksteps are fast and do not consume a lot of stamina.
Medium-weight builds will have dodge-rolls instead. Slower than quicksteps and consume more stamina. The stamina is indicated by a green circle next to your character when performing an action.
No Rest for the Wicked: Crafting and Upgrading Gear
You will also have access to a special hub where you can invest resources to create new buildings, upgrade crafting stations for NPCs, and even decorate your own home.
There, you will find different townsfolk who can help you with either crafting your own gear or upgrading the one you currently have on you.
And that covers everything that we know so far about the gear system in No Rest for the Wicked. As the Early Access date slowly approaches, we will make sure to provide a lot more content so stay tuned!
