Once Human - How To Craft & Use Gatling Cannons

Although building a pretty base in Once Human can be a very rewarding experience, living in a post-apocalyptic world will require you to use some defenses as well if you want to be safe from your enemies.

Thankfully, the game offers plenty of items that can help you, such as the Gatling Cannons. Yes, they might be a little expensive, but if you want to maximize the security of your home, you will need a few of them.

Once Human How To Craft Gatling Cannons

Unlocking the crafting blueprint for Gatling Cannons requires you to purchase the Close Defense Turret I node under the Building tree of the Memetics screen. You will need 7 Ciphers and 2,000 Energy Links.

To build a Tier 1 Gatling Cannon, you will have to gather the following materials as well:

It's important to note that you will also have to buy all other Memetics before purchasing the Close Defense Turret I because this is a Tier 4 item.

Once Human How To Upgrade The Gatling Cannons

As with any other item in Once Human, Gatling Cannons can be upgraded as well by purchasing the Close Defense Turret II Memetic. This will cost you 10 Ciphers and 5,000 Energy Links, and you will need the following materials:

Keep in mind that all resources for the upgraded version of the Gatling Cannons can be acquired by looting and harvesting materials in regions above Level 40.

Once Human How To Use Gatling Cannons

Gatling Cannons are not like regular defense turrets. They need to be managed manually by the player, or they become useless. Moreover, you will need a lot of ammo for them, and we recommend the Biomass Missiles since they are easily accessible.

Gatling Cannon ammo is automatically loaded from your inventory into the guns. All you need to do is press LMB to fire Biomass Missiles, and RMB to shoot Red Plasma Rounds if you have any of those available.
