Different weapons in Once Human give you the opportunity to use a wide range of effects, such as Status Damage. The type of boost you choose influences your gameplay experience immensely, especially if you want to reach high DMG numbers.

Status Damage is different from the other effects in the game because it supports mainly Burn, Frost, Vortex, Shock, and Unstable Bomber builds. The damage dealt by those boosts counts as Elemental Damage.

Status Damage is used to increase Blaze, Frost, Blast, and Shock DMG stats, which also boosts the DPS of your character. Generally, it means that your Damage Over Time will be significantly improved and the best news is that you can stack both Elemental and Status DMG to become as strong as possible.

However, keep in mind that some enemies are immune to Status Damage, such as Ravenous Hunter. This will not be a problem on Normal, but Hard Mode will require you to have a very good secondary weapon or a build that deals direct bullet damage.
