Pokemon GO: Fashion Week Explained (January 2025)

Team GO Rocket is at it again in Pokemon GO. This time around, they’re making their mark during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Giovanni is back in the game, bringing along Shadow Palkia with him. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting Fashion Week event in Pokémon GO.

Event Details

The Fashion Week event in Pokemon Go will run from Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Pokémon Debuts

Two new Pokémon are making their Pokémon GO debut:

• Shroodle (Toxic Mouse Pokémon)
• Grafaiai (Evolution of Shroodle)

How to Obtain Shroodle:

• Shroodle will hatch from 12 km Eggs starting with this event.
• Use 50 Shroodle Candy to evolve it into Grafaiai.

Event Bonuses

• Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
• Use a Charged TM to help Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

Save Shadow Palkia!

A Special Research questline will be available starting at the beginning of the event. Completing it will reward you with a Super Rocket Radar, which you can use to track down Giovanni.

• Deadline to Claim Special Research:
  You can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny on March 4, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

New Shadow Pokémon

Team GO Rocket Grunts, along with leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, are bringing new Shadow Pokémon into battle. The following Shadow Pokémon can now be encountered and rescued:

• Shadow Taillow
• Shadow Snivy
• Shadow Tepig
• Shadow Oshawott
• Shadow Trubbish
• Shadow Bunnelby

Bonus: Rescued Pokémon have a chance to be Shiny if you’re lucky!

Eggs

Hatch the following Pokémon from 12 km Eggs:

• Shroodle (with a chance to encounter a Shiny!)

Shadow Raids

Participate in Shadow Raids at Team GO Rocket-controlled Gyms. Other Gyms may still host regular raids.

One-Star Shadow Raids:

• Shadow Nidoran♀ (Shiny variant possible)
• Shadow Nidoran♂ (Shiny variant possible)
• Shadow Totodile
• Shadow Ralts*

Three-Star Shadow Raids:

• Shadow Electabuzz

Field Research Task Rewards

Complete event-themed Field Research tasks for rewards like:

• Mysterious Components
• Charged TMs
• Fast TMs

Collection Challenge

A special Collection Challenge will be available, focusing on catching event-themed Pokémon. Completing the challenge will reward you with:

• Stardust
• An encounter with Trubbish.

Event Bundle

A Team GO Rocket Box will be available in the in-game shop for 300 PokéCoins, containing:

• 1 Incubator
• 1 Rocket Radar
• 1 Premium Battle Pass
