The new Pokemon GO Research Day drops on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Pokemon trainers can expect some rare Pokemon sightings, as well as a Special event-themed field research leading to encountering some new Pokemon.

Receive event-themed Field Research tasks from spinning Photo Discs at PokeStops. Complete them to encounter the featured Pokemon. Also, for the first time in Pokemon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Passimian.

*You’ll have an increased chance of encountering a Shiny one!

Wild Encounters

The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild.

  • Mankey*
  • Aipom*
  • Slakoth*
  • Chimchar*
  • Grookey

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. This Timed Research will challenge you to complete Field Research tasks to encounter more of the featured Pokemon!

  • Oranguru*
  • Passimian*

Pokemon that appear during this Timed Research will have the same chance of appearing as Shiny Pokemon as those that can be encountered through Field Research during the event.

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. local time.

You will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of your Pokemon GO friends that you have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. You also can't buy tickets with PokeCoins.
