Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl What To Do With Broken Weapons

If you've already played Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl a few times, you're probably aware of the fact that all weapons in the game will eventually wear down and break. There are three tiers of durability, and they are the following: green, yellow, and red. Although the yellow type has some serious disadvantages, it's usable. However, the red ones are basically non-functional.

The good news is that no matter which category your weapon is in, it can be repaired. Well, that's only in case you decide to keep the weapon and use it in the future; otherwise, you're not obliged to fix anything. If you really like one of your guns and you want to repair it, go to the Technician. These professionals can be found in every area with non-hostile NPCs, which also includes Zalissya.

Every weapon in the game has a durability gauge that depletes when used. It's important to note that this will also affect the performance of your gun before it breaks. The lower the durability drops, the more unusable the weapon becomes. Moreover, fixing an item like this costs money, and the amount scales with the durability gauge. In other words, try to repair any item before it reaches 50% durability to avoid ruining your budget.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Broken Weapons Tips

In case you don't want to fix the weapon you already have and you just want to move forward until you find another, unload it to get its ammo and leave it on the ground. Keep in mind that once your gun enters the red category, you cannot sell it. However, many players are willing to even collect broken weapons, fix them, and then sell them to the vendors.

However, this method is not recommended because usually, the repair costs are way higher than the amount of money that the vendors are willing to pay in exchange for a weapon that has already been broken once. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that there's no chance of stumbling upon broken armor, and you will only be able to find weapons, suits, and helmets with the red symbol.

Many games promote the idea that repairing weapons or selling them for junk brings benefits and a lot of profit. However, as previously mentioned, this is not the case with Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The only situation when fixing a weapon is worth it in this game is when you have really fallen in love with it and you can't let it go. Even then, it's crucial to consider the advantages and disadvantages of your decision before running to find a Technician.

Last, but not least, keeping broken weapons in your inventory will leave you with no slots for new ones, and you won't be able to get anything better. Have fun and good luck on your next adventure!
