Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Compass Bar Explained

There's a little red bar that you'll notice below your compass in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and the game won't give you much information about it. However, this isn't simply something that's just there to visually enhance your experience; it's used as a Threat Indicator. When you start moving around and making noise, it will fill up with a blue line. If you stand still, it will remain empty. This means that you're safe, and you can open your inventory to sort out your items if you need to.

In case the bar is bright red, it means that you're in the middle of a combat situation. The first time you'll see this happening is during the mission called There and Back Again when you see an enemy that can turn invisible after picking up an Artifact. You'll also notice that sometimes there are small red triangles under the compass. They appear when you're attacked, and when they turn grey, they show you where your body is after you get killed. If you don't want to see the level of danger in your area through the compass bar, you can disable it by going into Settings, selecting the UI tab, and turning off the Threat Indicator option.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Why Is The Compass Turning Yellow

Sooner or later, your compass will turn yellow, but this isn't something to worry about. Of course, it means that you should keep a close eye on it because it indicates that you're currently in a search area. Since the game is generally very sensitive to sounds, such as steps, moving objects, or twigs snapping, the compass is a great tool that can warn you when there's something dangerous coming your way and you're too busy walking around gathering loot.

All in all, you're safe as long as the bar hasn't turned bright red. In that case, there's an enemy lurking somewhere in the shadows around you. Have fun and good luck on your next adventure! For more information about the latest gaming news and guides, you can check out the following articles:
