What are the Changes in TFT Set 10 Leveling?
With Set 10, the tempo of leveling up has changed drastically. The XP required to level up has been reduced, starting from level 5 and above.
Additionally, we have been introduced to the new level 10, which was previously attainable only with certain augments. Now, this level is standard and can be reached by anyone. The costs are as follows:
Level 10 is now the max level you can achieve at any point
- Level 5 to 6: 24 ⇒ 20xp
- Level 6 to 7: 40 ⇒ 36xp
- Level 7 to 8: 60 ⇒ 48xp
- Level 8 to 9: 84 ⇒ 80xp
- Level 9 to 10: 100 ⇒ 84xp
- Total XP need to hit max: 228 ⇒ 288

TFT Set 10: Standard Leveling
Standard Leveling is the most reliable and safe strategy in TFT Set 10. It typically relies on a 4-cost unit as the main carry, making it flexible all game.

Standard Leveling Game Plan
Stage 2:
If you find numerous upgrades during Stage 1, consider aiming for a winstreak. With enough gold, it's advisable to level up to 4 on round 2-1. If your winstreak persists, you can reach level 5 after the carousel on 2-4 to maintain your advantage.
Alternatively, if you don't come across strong units or upgrades, deliberately lose your streak to build up your economy without leveling up.
Around round 2-7, if you doubt your ability to defeat the Krugs, it's recommended to level up to 5. This way, you can secure the gold and item drops.
Stage 3
If you manage to maintain a winstreak into Stage 3, level up to 6 on round 3-1. Alternatively, if you find yourself significantly ahead, you can pause at 3-2 to focus on building up your economy. With this winstreak, you can continue accumulating resources without the need for rolling.
If you have been on a losing streak up to this point, consider leveling up on round 3-2 to stabilize and save XP. Roll down until you find enough upgrades. You should still be relatively safe as long as you manage to defeat enough enemy units in each round.

Stage 4
Whether you're on a losing or winning streak, reaching level 7 is highly probable.
If you have a substantial XP pool or are on a winning streak, refrain from rolling down on level 7. Instead, focus on building up your economy to achieve a faster level 8.
Conversely, if you have low XP or your board is weak, consider rolling down at level 7 until you find your 4-cost carry and a couple of upgrades to stabilize.
Stage 5+
Most players aim to reach level 8 at round 5-1, as it offers the highest probability of finding 4-cost carries and 5-cost legendary units.
In standard leveling, once you reach level 8, initiate a rolling down phase to acquire necessary upgrades and enhance your team. After completing your upgrades and reinforcing your economy, strive to reach level 9. From there, focus on obtaining 5-cost units with 1/2 stars to further strengthen your composition.

TFT Set 10: Hyper Rolling/Slow Rolling
Hyper Rolling is a strategy that involves spending all of your gold to seek a 3-star unit and/or upgrade your entire board with 2-star units.
In contrast, slow rolling requires maintaining your gold above 50 and rolling only a few times each round.
A blend of these two methods is employed for team compositions where the carry is a 1, 2, or 3-cost unit. This approach relies on significant win-or-lose streaks and power spikes.

Hyper Rolling / Slow Rolling Game Plan
Stage 2
What you have to do here is hoard as much gold as possible, buying only the units you need for your specific composition. When you reach 50 gold you should start slow rolling. Most of the time you will be lose streaking on that stage.
Stage 3
If you are looking for a 1-cost carry - Roll down to 20 gold at round 3-1. You are still level 4 and have the highest chance for 1-cost units.
If you are looking for a 2-cost carry - Level up to level 6 at round 3-2. Depending on your board you should choose between rolling down for upgrades or building up your economy.
If you are looking for a 3-cost carry - Level up to level 6 and always build up your economy.

Stage 4
If you are using a 1-cost carry - You should slow roll until you 3-star most of your units. After you are done, use your gold to catch up with leveling up.
If you are using a 2-cost carry - If you still haven't 3 started your carry by round 4-1, roll down and go for level 7 after that.
If you are using a 3-cost carry - Your 3-star unit should be able to carry you through stage 4. If you don't have anything 2-star yet, roll down a bit and then start building your economy back up.
Stage 5+
If you are using a 1-cost or a 2-cost carry - If you reach level 8, plug in any 4 and 5-cost units that synergize with your active traits. Your game plan until the end of the game is to try and upgrade them.
If you are using a 3-cost carry - Your biggest powerspike is at round 5-1. You have to be level 7 to roll down and hit your 3-star 3-cost unit.

TFT Set 10: Fast 8
The concept behind this strategy is to attain level 8 earlier, allowing you to secure your 4 and 5-cost carries before other players. This approach works exceptionally well if you have a strong early and mid-game.
Fast 8 Game Plan
Stage 2
The strategy here is the same as in standard leveling by committing to either a winning or losing streak. You will need a lot of gold for Fast 8.
Stage 3
It is also similar to the standard leveling strategy. However, no matter if you are on a winning or a losing streak, you should save your gold and not roll down.
Stage 4
Stage 4 is your biggest powerspike. At round 4-3 you should rush level 8. With your remaining 30-40 gold, roll down until you find a 4-cost carry. Pick up any 5-costs that you stumble upon.
On the rare occasion that you have a strong enough board, after hitting level 8 don't roll down. Instead, build up your economy and slow-roll for your carries.
Stage 5+
By now, almost everyone in the lobby will be at level 8. If you were lucky enough and managed to upgrade your whole board, look for a Fast 9.
If you haven't upgraded your whole board, roll down all of your gold.
To Fast 9, save up enough gold so that you can level up and still have 30-40 gold left to roll down.
