Teamfight Tactics Set 12: Potential Release Date
You might have already seen the schedule uploaded by Riot at the beginning of the year. According to it, the release of Set 12 is scheduled for sometime in July 2024. If you look at the Battle Pass for Season 11, you can see that it expires on July 31, which is also when patch 14.15 is scheduled to begin.
Although Riot has not yet announced an official date, we can speculate that Set 12 will be released in the latter part of July. We can expect the Public Beta Environment test period to begin two weeks in advance, on either July 15 or July 16.

TFT Set 12: Theme
We don't know the specific theme for Set 12 for certain, but some details that were given to us give us a pretty good idea of what it might be. Starting with the roadmap we saw above. As you may have seen, there is a short description of Set 12 saying, 'Magic, mayhem, and... bees?'.
During a live interview, Mortdog—TFT's Game Design Director and Gameplay Director—gave us some spoilers about the set, saying it will be pretty 'magical.' He went on to say that Neeko will be coming back with a twist in her abilities. In Set 12, Neeko will be able to turn into Scuttle Crab.

Another major thing mentioned in the roadmap description is 'bees.' As you know, League of Legends already has a bee-themed skin line. This means we can expect the following champion to be a part of this set:
- Singed
- Blitzcrank
- Heimerdinger
- Kog’maw
- Malzahar
- Nunu
- Orianna
- Teemo
- Veigar
- Vel’Koz
- Yuumi
- Ziggs

TFT Set 12: New Mechanics
Although we still don't know many details about the mechanics for Set 12, Mortdog might have leaked a mechanic for the upcoming set.
In a recent stream, TFT's developer was asked for his thoughts on whether the game should be a draft game. This would mean that only one or a few players could "draft" a carry or a composition while the other players have limited or no access to the same units. In response, Mortdog shared his thoughts on a similar matter concerning game design. He expressed that situations in which the game's shop and augments push you towards a certain playstyle or composition but don’t deliver everything you need feel awful. For example, you might get offered a "bunch of Azirs" without ever hitting the right items or supporting units for him.

Given that Mortdog is the lead developer and his ideas are generally implemented in the game with high priority, it wouldn't be surprising if Riot decides to include a new mechanic in Set 12 or any future set aimed at "bad luck protection." This could be done in many different ways, so we just have to wait and see.
What do you think? Will such a mechanic be a part of Set 12?
