The First Descendant is here, and we are all ready to try and save humanity from the evil race of the Vulgus. There are so many weapons, characters, missions, and adventures in the new game that fans are currently flooding the Internet with comments and reviews about each one of them.

However, like many other games, The First Descendant faced some issues when it first dropped, such as fans being unable to claim their Twitch drops and occasionally running into a black screen error that was preventing them from playing the game. Of course, these issues were quickly resolved, but players are now more focused on one recurring boss mechanic that is widely considered overused and boring.

Although The First Descendant receives thousands of positive reviews every day, there are still some hiccups here and there. Many fans commented that the recurring boss mechanic in the game lacks originality and that it artificially extends combat in a boring way.

It's a gimmick and an obnoxious one at that. You could change that to anything else in the world and it would improve the game.

The gimmick in question is the boss's orb mechanic. When you damage an enemy to the point where it spawns several orbs that need to be destroyed, the boss cannot be damaged while they are in play. Unfortunately, Nexon Games has used this strategy a little bit too often, and players are now saying that it's getting old.

A large portion of the community also pointed out that the mechanic is even worse when you are fighting a boss in a cave and the orbs clip through the roof. At that moment, they can't even be touched. The truth is that The First Descendant is not the first hero-based looter shooter, and we've seen our fair share of gameplay gimmicks for bosses in different titles, so it's unclear why the developers relied so heavily on temporary invincibility.

Some people claim that the boss mechanic was developed this way to save time, as it is faster to repurpose an existing gimmick than to create a brand-new one. The community is hoping that the issue will be fixed soon. Until then, have fun and good luck! For more information about The First Descendant, you can check out this article.
