The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.3 finally dropped on July 18, 2024, and it gave the community plenty of reasons to be excited. Despite Nexon's questionable reputation when it comes to releasing new games, it really seems like The First Descendant will be taken care of very well.
There are new updates not only of our favorite characters but also in terms of the most common complaint - AFK players. The developers added an AFK option to the player report menu, and although it is used only as a way to learn the patterns of AFK players, it's a good start for implementing more strict measures to eliminate the issue.

The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.3 UI/UX Changes
Players' projectile explosions can now be turned off, and the developers have made sure to improve the visibility by reducing the duration of the explosion effect and Vestigial Organ. It is also easier to check the DBNO status of allies with just a system message, and the research completion visual effect has been reduced for frequently used materials. When you obtain major rewards from chain quests, they will be checked in the quest list, and there is an option to view acquisition information directly in the target section of the Library.
Nexon Games fixed the issue of scrolling to the top when moving from the target item of the Library to the corresponding item list, and they added Firearm and Rounds types to the Library Weapon List. Players who join the Void Fusion Reactor can no longer use the Reconstructing Device if there are no Void Shards after completing the mission and the Void Fragment gives you 1.5 times more Void Shard; you will be able to see the amount on the Void Fusion Reactor. The Void Shard attribute is now displayed on the map, and Linked Amorphous Material is added to the Void Fusion Reactor mission tooltip.

The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.3 Infiltration Operation, Missions & Field
The First Descendant did not allow players to view mission results through the ESC menu after completing an Infiltration Operation, but this option is now available. The time limit for destroying the Ironheart has been removed in the Fortress - Heart of the Fortress, and the supply droid in the Quarantine Zone has been moved to the battle zone. The position of immunity spheres of Named Monsters will not change anymore as the monsters move, and the sequential sphere type of the Named Immunity of Alternate Hand of Nazeistra has been updated.
The best news here is that the drop quantity on Hard Mode has been increased by approximately 1.5. You can also expect monsters to spawn upon entering the Vulgus Strategic Outpost even if you kill the first ones and the sphere no longer trembles during the Named Monster's sphere gimmick. Moreover, the developers fixed an issue that prevented field change by removing the shield created during the Upper Hatchery mission in the White-night Gulch Hatchery. Monsters will not spawn without an actual battle in the White-night Gulch Fortress Outskirts.

The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.3 Bug Fixes, Modules & Void Intercept Battle
Windowed mode and Frame Generation in The First Descendant used to have memory leaks that are now taken care of, and there are no more issues with the temporary frame drops while opening inventory with DLSS Frame Generation. Frame limit is also restored. You can change Descendants after completing the exclusive dungeon of the quest To Bunny, Our Beloved Daughter, and the Firearm ATK of the Shoot Focus Module is no longer applied as a sum operation.
The Arche Acceleration increases the speed and distance of projectiles, and the module list scroll is reset to the top after Module Enhancement. Code Analyzer was intermittently required when working with Encrypted Vault on Hard Mode, and failing to use a grappling hook in the prologue caused the player to spawn at the next location with the Mission Unfinished Status. However, those issues have been fixed. Removal now happens intermittently, and the grappling hook is not maintained during a battle.

The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.3 Additional Improvements
Items can now be collected when purchasing multiple products of the same category, and the material quantity text is no longer cut off in Weapon Transmission for the Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese versions of The First Descendant. Additionally, the issue where the top menu remained when you would click on Top Library through Acquisition is fixed.
You don't have to worry about the black screen appearing upon starting a Special Operation, and some symbol effects were added for Code Analyzer, Code Breaker, and Core Material. Last but not least, account names starting with # are also visible. Have fun and good luck on your next adventure. If you want to read the full Patch notes, you can click here.
