The Sims 4: All Secret Locations Ranked

If you've had time to explore The Sims 4, you might know of the secret lots Maxis cleverly scattered around different parts of the maps. Some of them are better hidden than others, and some require your Sim to have maxed out certain skills to enter it.

With that in mind, we decided to compile a list and rank all of these secret worlds based on their accessibility, functionality, and sheer beauty, as well as share tips and tricks on how to access them.

TS4: All Secret Worlds Ranked and How to Unlock Them

Sul sul simmers! While waiting for the Life and Death expansion pack to drop and getting in the mood for fall, you might be wondering how to refresh your legacy gameplay, or just looking for new things to do. 

Did you know that your sim can randomly teleport to any hidden world during meditation? Wild, right? That's only possible if their meditation skill is above level 7 and have visited the place before.

For your convenience, we have gathered a list of all secret locations in The Sims 4, and what you need to do to find them. We've only included the worlds you can travel to - otherwise, there are more rabbit holes to explore with rewards for completing them.

6. Sylvan Glade (Base Game)

Sylvan Glade is a whimsical hidden world you can enter near the Crick Cabana lot in Willow Creek. You can look for frogs, fish for the special Treefish you can only find there, and forage rare plants and stones to complete your collections.

This 15x20 lot also allows you to free build on it if you'd like to customize the place for your next visits. Just press Ctrl + C to bring up cheat commands, then enter testingcheatstrue to enable cheats. Enter bb.enablefreebuild on the same menu and let it rip!

How to Access Sylvan Glade: TS4

• Find the beautiful ornate tree near Crick Cabana
• View it a couple of times until new options show up
• Compliment, water, and talk to the tree to open the door
• Pick the answers "Follow the Sound," "Travel Downstream," "Enter the Mist," and "Travel to Glade".

5. The Forgotten Grotto (Base Game)

The Forgotten Grotto is a mesmerizing crystal cave you can reach in the abandoned mine in Oasis Springs. You can find the mine the fastest if you travel to the Affluista Mansion and search behind the lot and Desert Bloom Park. Your sim needs to have Level 10 Handiness skill to pry the wood planks blocking the entrance open. Or of course - you could bypass that with cheats.

You can't build inside The Forgotten Grotto, however, there are rare items you can't find anywhere else in the game. You can also fish for the rare Batfish, which only spawns there as well. 

How to Access The Forgotten Grotto: TS4

• Find the entrance of the abandoned mine behind Affluista Mansion
• Pry the entrance open and enter the mine (Handiness Skill: 10)
• Choose the options "Take the Wide Path," "Climb the Ladder," and "Step onto the Ledge"

4. Mt. Komorebi Upper Mountain (Snowy Escape Pack)

The stunning view from the peak of Mt. Komorebi is worth all the trouble getting up there. And it's quite time-consuming, but equally rewarding. At the peak, you find a snow pile with several prizes including Simmi capsules (common), a potion of youth (uncommon), and 10,000 simoleons (rare). 

There are plenty of things to do on the way to the top, such as drinking from a mountain spring, woohooing in an ice cave, honing their snowboarding and skiing skills, and finding simoleons and rare gems. You can also freely build on the 20x20 space at the peak without cheats, though you can't change the lot type.

How to Access Mt. Komorebi Upper Mountain: TS4

• Travel to the bathhouse in the Yukimatsu district
• Start the Mountain Climb Excursion Social Event (Mountain Climbing Skill: 8)
• Access the hidden areas and climb to the top

3. Planet Sixam (Get to Work Pack)

Planet Sixam looks like something straight out of the movie Avatar with its gorgeous bio-luminescent mushrooms and plants, out-worldly colors, and aliens throwing a party for you upon arrival. It's also the hardest world to get to in the game.

Aliens? Aliens! Meet and befriend the local aliens and strengthen your intergalactic relations. You can find rare plants, minerals, elements, and geodes scattered all over the 20x20 lot, and you can free-build on it with the bb.enablefreebuild cheat. 

Fun fact - Sixam spelled backward reads Maxis, the developers of The Sims franchise. 

How to Access Planet Sixam in TS4: Option 1

• Join the Scientist Career and reach the Rocket Scientist role
• Upgrade the rocket with a Wormhole Generator while at work (Rocket Science Skill: 10)
• Get on the rocket and travel to Sixam

How to Access Planet Sixam in TS4: Option 2

• Join the Scientist Career
• Construct a Wormhole Generator with two elements, two uncommon crystals, and two uncommon metals
•  Go through the Wormhole

2. The Magic Realm (Realm of Magic Pack)

The Magic Realm is the easiest to find in the entire game, and it's almost too easy considering how gorgeous this world is. A magical caste and town floating on rocks amidst nothing, with wizards and witches inhabiting the corners of the world, dueling and selling magical items and resources, and even a secret garden beaming with collectibles. 

If you play with a regular sim, you can obtain magical powers through talking to one of the three Sages in the Magic Realm. If you play with a magical occult, chances are you'll be spending all of your time here, and getting there is pretty straightforward.

How to Access The Magic Realm: TS4

• Travel to the Glimmerbrook area
• Follow a path behind the starting lot until you reach the waterfall
• The portal to the Magic Realm is at the waterfall 

1. Hermit's House/ The Deep Woods (Outdoor Retreat Pack)

The Hermit's house might be the best secret world in the game so far. Situated well into The Deep Woods, the house is nested between a magnificent waterfall with rare fish, thick evergreen woods, and small meadows with blackberries, insects, and rare collectibles.

The Hermit is sweet enough to let you harvest some of their top-quality plants, as well as befriend them and enter their home. If you have enough relationship points with them, they can teach you a special fertilizer recipe and help you locate rare plants.

And yes - if you're that type of player, you can coexist with or replace the Hermit and live in their house. 

How to Access Hermit's House/ The Deep Woods: TS4

• Travel to Granite Falls Forest National Park 
• Find the bramble patch in one of the corners of the lot and enter
• Choose the options "Explore," "Step Forward," "Keep Walking," and "Travel Towards the Sim."

Conclusion

Secret locations are one of the best features of any The Sims game, and we secretly wish there were more to explore in TS4. Maybe not so secretly. With this list, you can rediscover the map and come up with even more fun scenarios to put your little people in. 

All in all, each one of these locations is breathtakingly beautiful and each one is worth visiting. Just make sure not to kill your sim in the ventures off into the unknown hidden parts of the Sims world. The Grim Reaper is always lurking, everywhere. Dag Dag!
