If you want to live out your vampire power fantasy, V Rising is the game for you. V Rising is a vampire survival ARPG with PVE and PVP content that launched this week. Stay tuned to learn everything you need to know before beginning your journey.
V Rising 1.0: Choosing a Game Difficulty
If you’ve never played V Rising before, Normal is a great place to start. This difficulty is still challenging. It has some hard boss fights and is nothing to laugh at.
If you want a challenge similar to a souls-like game, you should go for the Brutal difficulty. This difficulty adds new mechanics or completely changes most boss fights. Brutal also adds new mechanics to the world itself.
If you want a chill experience just exploring the world and like progressing fast, you should go for Relaxed.

V Rising 1.0: Best Castle Locations
If you’re playing on a PVP server, it’s essential to grab a good Castle location as fast as possible In V Rising. Once you’re done with the tutorial zone, make sure to pick and spawn at a location as close as possible to the Castle location you want and rush to it. Ideally, you’ll want to place your Castle on an open, elevated space to make it easier to defend.
For PVE servers, Castle locations are not as important, but you’ll want to build your Castle in a place that will allow you to avoid a lot of backtracking and traveling.
V Rising 1.0: Building Tips
One of the first things you’ll want to do in V Rising is build multiple refinement buildings. Having at least 5 furnaces and forges will greatly speed up your progression. For example, you’ll receive 5 times the resources with 5 refinement buildings for the same amount of time.

V Rising 1.0: Exploration and Travel Tips
Vampire Waygates allow you to fast-travel which is a great way to get back to your Castle. Some resources, however, cannot be carried through those Waygates. If you’re going on a farming run, it’s quite likely you’ll need to get back on foot.
To speed up this process, you can grab a horse. A great place to find a horse is the central region called Dunley Farmlands. You can press “F” near a horse to mount it. Use “E” if you want to gallop with the horse.
V RIsing has a day and night cycle. Vampires need to stay away from the sunlight. If you remain in the sunlight for more than a few seconds, your character will start taking damage. You can avoid this by walking in the shadows of the surrounding terrain. It’s wise to avoid combat during the day as it’s a lot harder to maneuver.
V Rising 1.0: Blood Types and Finishers
When you drop enemies to low health in V Rising, you’ll notice an option to Feed on them, as well as a percentage. The higher the percentage is, the higher the rarity of the Blood Type the enemy has. Ideally, you’ll want to consume enemies with rare Blood Types for more powerful buffs. Over time, your Blood Pool will drain and you’ll need to feed again.
