Who is Malphas in Diablo 4 Season of the Construct?
Joining the ranks of the main endgame bosses from the previous seasons, Varshan and Lord Zir, is Malphas, a demon that resides inside the Loom, which is an ancient technology once created by Zoltun Kulle. Malphas has taken control of one of the Constructs and has twisted the Loom, creating an army hell-bent on taking over Sanctuary. During the Seasonal Questline, players are going to be tasked with saving Zoltun Kulle's old assistant Ayuzhan, and with his knowledge, they are going to find a way to stop Malphas' plans from manifesting.
A new threat lurks deep beneath the sands of Kehjistan, where the Loom, an ancient technology—designed by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum—has been usurped by the forces of evil. The Demon Malphas is responsible for twisting the Loom for his cruel whims. Zoltun’s former companion Ayuzhan leads you through the treacherous Vaults, desperate to stop the formidable Malphas and his deadly constructs from overtaking Sanctuary.
In terms of in-game mechanics, Malphas is said to be the first stationary boss in the game, throwing different traps and hazards towards players who wish to defeat him. It's almost as if he is a trap himself, standing in the middle of the arena while creating different obstacles around him.

While there is no current information on where you are going to find Malphas, we expect it to be similar to the end bosses of previous Seasons. You are likely going to encounter him at the end of the Seasonal Questline, after which he will likely become part of the new Vault Dungeon systems. Players are most likely going to need to clear a certain amount of Vault Dungeons to obtain some resources that will be used to summon him.
That covers everything we currently know about the latest antagonist in the Diablo series - Malphas. A lot more lore about him and his plans will definitely be available through the Seasonal Questline and we are excited to see how he fits into the world of Sanctuary.
