Given that Season of Discovery has finally reached its last phase, players are starting to wonder whether the developers at Blizzard are cooking up something more for the future. The community has been theorizing the possibility of Classic Plus and it seems that there might be some merit to the ongoing conversation.

Recently, two developers shared a lot about SoD Phase 4, as well as potentially hinting at more to come after the experimental seasonal servers end. Having that in mind, we will take a look at what we know so far about the eventual implementation of Classic+.

Is WoW Classic Plus Coming Soon?

Given the experimental nature of Season of Discovery, the developers shared some insight as to why they even put out this seasonal experience for players to try out and provide feedback.

"We may stretch too far in terms of how we push the limits in terms of what is acceptable within traditional Classic design for Season of Discovery, but a lot of that is purposeful."

- Tim Jones, Classic Developer

It is great to see this level of transparency even from the get-go as the devs have stated that SoD is a very experimental idea and given how often the Classic team asked for feedback, we might see a lot of improvements in terms of a potential Classic Plus experience.

Although the devs did not provide any concrete information on whether Classic Plus is coming anytime soon, there is still some hope from the community that all of the feedback from Season of Discovery will bring forth an even better and more fun way of delivering Classic Plus to the players.

Community Reactions to WoW Classic Plus

Following the interview, the r/classicwow subreddit was quick to jump on the hype train concerning the potential release of Classic Plus.

"I don't know how this is surprising to people still. Before SoD was even out, they said they were going to use it pretty much as a testing field in regards to everyone blowing up about classic +, and encouraged feedback both positive and negative so they'd know what direction to take it. The whole thing has basically been one giant beta test lol"

- Falelor, Reddit User

Overall, the sentiment seems to be positive as the community is happy to hear that the developers are fully aware of what went good and bad in Season of Discovery, and since they purposefully stretched the limits of what can be deemed acceptable, we might get a more refined Classic Plus experience given all of the lessons and feedback from the seasonal servers.

"I haven’t been on board for every decision but I’m glad they have been willing to try new things"

- Unoriginal-, Reddit User

All in all, this interview showed some very promising insight into the possible release of Classic Plus sometime in the future. Given how experimental Season of Discovery was, combined with the recent survey that was sent out, Classic+ might be closer than we can imagine.
