Many players have been very excited to see how Warbands will function since their initial announcement. This highly-anticipated feature will bring a much-needed quality-of-life change to the game, enabling players with many characters to more easily progress either their achievement hunts, transmog collections, or reputation grinding.

Blizzard is taking an interesting approach as it seems that the developers are focusing on re-igniting the passion of players by either introducing new content for open-world enthusiasts or simply making it easier for players to collect items, cosmetics, and other goodies without diminishing the enjoyment from the process.

We will take a look at what players can expect to see from the Warbands in World of Warcraft The War Within, as well as examine what other changes or features can potentially be added to further enhance the gaming experience.

What are Warbands in WoW?

To put it simply, Warbands is a feature that will enable players to share progress across their characters, whether achievements, reputation, resources, transmogs, etc. This will reduce unwanted tension and setbacks that World of Warcraft currently has so that players can more easily transfer items, or grind for their desired items.

You will also get a brand new in-game screen where all of your characters will be displayed, thus making it more worthwhile for you to try leveling and gearing up multiple alts whether in terms of profession efficacy or from a collector's standpoint.

Warbands will be limited to the region you are currently are playing, but all of your characters will a part of your roster, regardless of realm, faction, and subscription.

Warband Bank and More Features

Warbands will also introduce a brand new Warband Bank tab that will allow players to seamlessly transfer items across their characters without having to mail them. This is a fantastic feature that will make it much easier for players to have multiple alts. Players will be limited to only sharing non-soulbound items, however, you will have the option to purchase hundreds of inventory slots with gold.

Reputation Currencies

A rather annoying aspect of World of Warcraft is the many reputation currencies that you need to farm which are tied to a single character. This will no longer be an issue as currencies will now be shared across all characters in your Warband. You will now also be able to transfer your desired currency to your other characters as you see fit.

Warbound Until Equipped Gear

This will be a new type of gear that can be freely transferred across your Warband, however, once it is equipped it becomes soulbound. This will allow players to more easily gear up their alts whilst playing on their main character.

Transmogs

You will now be able to collect different appearances across all your characters that will be stored as any piece of gear will now be redeemable once looted. This means that cloth-wearing characters can collect plate gear which will be added to your collection of transmogs.

Reputation and Achievements

Reputation and Renown levels will now be shared across all of your characters in the Warband. Achievements and progress towards them will also be shared account-wide, however, some exceptions will apply to certain feats so as not to diminish the hard work that the players put in.
