In Wuthering Waves, all players will be able to select one 5-star weapon once they reach Union Level 45. The weapon you should choose depends on your account's state, but there are a few things to consider before choosing.
Wuthering Waves: 5-Star Weapons
In Wuthering Waves, the 5-star weapon selector allows you to select five weapons from the standard weapon banner. These five weapons reflect the five weapon types accessible in Wuthering Waves, with each having a unique secondary stat and effect.
- Cosmic Ripples (Rectifier) – Attack
- Lustrous Razor (Broadblade) – Attack
- Abyss Surgers (Gauntlet) – Attack
- Static Mist (Pistols) – Critical Rate
- Emerald of Genesis (Sword) – Critical Rate

All five of these weapons have great special effects that provide good utility, however, that’s not the most important thing. What matters here, is the secondary stats they provide listed above.
If we’ve learned anything from predecessors of Wuthering Waves, it’s that Crit is the best stat you can get and you should always aim for it. This is why we recommend taking either the Emerald of Genesis or the Static Mist.
Just to let you know, not using a CRIT-based weapon will result in less overall damage because critical hits multiply your ATK stat. Essentially, the difference is between relying on one multiplier and three. CRIT DMG only works when you CRIT, hence the value increases with your CRIT RATE, resulting in more damage.
Wuthering Waves: Why You Should Pick Emerald of Genesis

Here's the deal: In Wuthering Waves, Critical Value metrics (CRIT RATE, CRIT DMG) are more difficult to come by in large quantities unlike Attack (ATK). This is because ATK has a far larger number of sources and so is more easily accessible. As a result, Critical Value stats should be prioritized wherever possible, hence eliminating all but Emerald of Genesis and Static Mist.
Emerald of Genesis' only advantage over Static Mist is that it can be used by more characters, at least for the time being. At the time of release, there are more Sword users than any other type, providing more possibilities to equip Emerald of Genesis.
All that being said, if you have a favorite character and want to get them a five-star weapon, feel free to do so.
