Wuthering Waves Nominated for Mobile Game of the Year

Wuthering Waves has certainly had an interesting time ever since its release. The hype behind the game was enormous, with a ton of content creators checking the game out and making videos, posters, and promotional videos being shown all throughout the world. However, ever since its release, the game has been seeing a ton of backlash for countless issues, translation mishaps, information leaks, and much more. However, Wuthering Waves has managed to push through all of the adversity its way and has now firmly solidified its place as one of the big names in the gacha field, while being loved by many due to the developers’ willingness to listen to its players. It may also just be this willingness to listen that helped the game be nominated for this year’s Best Mobile Game in the 2024 Game Awards.

Wuthering Waves Nominated

Given that the 2024 Game Awards are less than a month away, it was about time to finally get information about the nominees for this year. To no one’s surprise, Wuthering Waves managed to snatch a place in the Best Mobile Game category, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Afk Journey, Balatro, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, and Zenless Zone Zero.

The roster this year is quite insane, with a ton of high-budget games backed by large companies fighting for the top spot. AFK Journey is the successor to AFK Arena, and ever since its release, it has solidified its place as a giant in the Idle game market. And there’s no need to mention the strength of the Pokemon IP. Balatro has also been making waves with its unique take on Poke and the Roguelike genre. Lastly, we can’t forget about Zenless Zone Zero and the company behind it. It certainly is proving to be a tough competition, with no one knowing which game will come out on top.

After being nominated, the Wuthering Waves official channels soon posted to thank their players for being nominated and to, of course, award them for their unwavering support through the game’s lifespan. The developers have decided to send out a total of 1000 Astrite to its players across all servers as a thank-you gift for the nomination. The gift will be sent out at 15:00 (UTC+8) today, November 19, 2024, so make sure to check your mail and claim the 1000 Astrite to maybe help you with your pulls for Camellya.
