Ash Echoes is the newest gacha game to hit the market, and it stands out thanks to its unique take on the real-time strategy (RTS) genre. It offers a unique combat loop unlike anything we’ve seen in other gacha games, and although it is novel, the gameplay loop is also hard to master. The game offers many unique systems for you to learn about, with one of the most important of those systems being the Element system, which we’ll be diving into today.

Elements in Ash Echoes
Each character, or Echomancer, in Ash Echoes, falls under a specific element. This is also true for enemies, so elemental weaknesses and picking the right element are a crucial part of the game. Ash Echoes offers a total of 7 Elements, each with their unique effects and uses. Some elements can produce what are known as [Elemental Zones], while others provide impressive effects that aid you in battle. Understanding the elements and what they do is the first step to mastering Ash Echoes’ Elemental System. You start your learning journey by taking a look at all of the elements and their effects in the table below.
Element | Icon | Effect |
Water | Some Echomancers with the Water Element can create Water Zones. Enemies inside Water Zones take 10% more Water DMG.
Fire | Some Echomancers with the Fire Element can create Fire Zones. Enemies inside Fire Zones take Fire DMG equal to 1% of their current HP per second.
Lightning | Echomancers with the Lightning Element cannot create Elemental Zones but can trigger various Elemental Reactions such as Explosion, Electroconduct, and Electrolyzed
Ice | Some Echomancers with the Ice Element can create Ice Zones. Enemies inside Ice Zones will be Frozen after a set duration. If Frozen enemies are hit by Ice DMG there is a chance for [Frostbreak] to trigger, which kills the enemy instantly.
Wind | The Wind Element does not create Elemental Zones or trigger Elemental Reactions. However, Echomancers with the Wind Element can deal additional damage to airborne enemies. The Wind Element can also clear Corrosion to reveal enemies or push enemies off of terrains.
Corrosion | The Corrosion Element inflicts corrosion elemental damage and accumulates Corrosion Explosion Value. Once the Corrosion Explosion Value reaches 100, it causes AoE damage to all enemies in the area and resets the Corrosion Explosion Value to 0.
Physical | The Physical Element does not create any reactions or special effects, but it can benefit from certain reaction bonuses. |

Elemental Reactions
Elemental Reactions in Ash Echoes occur when a specific Element interacts with an already existing Elemental Zone. These effects are often quite powerful and can turn the tide of battle if used correctly. Having a good understanding of Elemental Zones and Elemental Reactions will help you better master the game and clear difficult stages. In the table below, you can find a full breakdown of the various elemental reactions that can occur within Ash Echoes.

Vaporized | Water + Fire | Generates a Vaporized zone. Allied Echomancers receive 50% Damage Reduction when inside the zone. |

Frozen | Water + Ice | Applies the [Freeze] effect on enemies. Enemies under the [Freeze] effect cannot act. |
Explosion | Fire + Lightning | The Explosion reaction causes additional damage to enemies based on the stats of the Echomancer that triggered the reaction. |
Melt | Fire + Ice | Reduced the target's damage reduction. |
Electrolyzed | Ice + Lightning | Enemies under the Electrolyzed effect receive reduced ATK% while within the zone. |
