Diablo 4 Season 4 released just a few days ago, and after all the massive changes that came with this update, it feels like this is the first time we are seeing a generally positive reception from the community since the game was released in 2023. Season 4 not only brings the itemization rework that players have been waiting for but also new endgame additions and changes, such as the new Pit of the Artificer dungeon, the Helltide rework, and the Uber Andariel boss fight.

One of the best ways for players to experience everything the game has to offer is by completing their Seasonal Journey tasks. These tasks aim to guide you in the right direction depending on your level while also granting you some in-game rewards. One of the new tasks in the Seasonal Journey is called 'Baptized in Hell,' requiring you to defeat 25 Hellborne to complete it. As these Hellborne enemies can be a bit hard to identify, in this article, we will help you find and defeat them.

How to Find Hellborne in Diablo 4 Season 4

Hellborne is a new enemy type that was introduced in the Helltide rework for Diablo 4 Season 4. They are a stronger version of a standard elite mob, as they have a random combination of affixes, such as Vampiric or Summoner, but they also deal more damage and have an increased amount of health. The only way you can find Hellborne is by summoning them through the new Threat system that was introduced in Season 4. Each time you defeat enemy monsters in a Helltide zone, you will be filling up the Threat bar at the top right side of the screen, and once you reach the end point, you will be continuously ambushed until the meter depletes back to normal.

Once this bar is fully depleted and you have managed to defeat all of the enemies that have been summoned, a Hellborne enemy will appear. While this is the only way in which you can summon a Hellborne yourself, keep in mind that you can find other people’s Hellborne in the open world as well, so grouping up and playing together is going to make completing the task in the Season Journey a lot easier. You can also use the new Profane Mindcage elixir to make the Helltide enemies a higher level while also increasing the amount of Threat you gain.
