The game offers 46 Personalities in total, and they can change. To achieve this, you need to have access to special accessories and items. However, before jumping into the advanced options, it's time to explain all the Personalities in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, how they work, and what you need to do to change them.

Dragon Quest 3 Remake Personalities Explained
Yes, the point of the different Personalities in Dragon Quest 3 Remake is to make your character more unique. However, they are also designed to change the way your stats grow and develop. Moreover, each Job in the game has its own stat growth as well. That's why it's so important to match the Personality of your character to the Job. When you create a fighter, the game will automatically and randomly select a Personality for them. In this case, you can't do much but just hope that it matches the Job.
However, the good news is that you'll be able to change the default Personality not only of your own Hero but also of everyone else in your Party. In any case, many players are already in love with what they got on the first try, as this feature allows an array of diverse characters, which only makes the title more interesting. Additionally, keep in mind that although some Personalities can increase the growth of a certain stat only, others allow boosts in multiple directions.

Dragon Quest 3 Remake How To Change Personality
When you create your Hero in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, you'll be required to take a Personality Quiz that will determine your stat growth and the actions you take in the form of a monster. As far as your allies are concerned, they will be given a default option, which you cannot influence at the moment of creating them for the first time. However, we recommend answering all the questions in the Quiz honestly, so you don't have to change your Personality later in the game. Unfortunately, not every player likes the result of their first attempt to respond to the questions.
Thankfully, you can change the Personality of your own Hero and even your allies by reading books that are scattered on different bookshelves around the world. Be aware that this will change your Personality permanently, and the supply of books is limited. You can also equip accessories to your Main slot, which will allow you to alter your Personality but without a long-term commitment. It's important to mention that this does not apply to Cursed accessories.
