Hades 2 is finally here, and the amount of work that Supergiant Games has done over the past few years is astounding. The game is filled with content which perfectly builds upon the original, with new gods, weapons, and challenges being added while also keeping the same amazing voice acting, story, and visuals that elevated the series back in 2020. Hades 2: What Does God Mode Do?
God Mode is a returning feature from the original game, and it is a difficulty setting that will make the game a lot easier. You can find this setting under the 'Gameplay' section in the options, and you can turn it on and off at any point during the game. If it works the same way upon the full release of the game, turning it on should not stop you from earning any achievements.
The way God Mode works is that once you toggle it, you will instantly receive a 20% damage reduction, and you will also receive an additional 2% each time you die in one of your runs. This damage reduction caps out at 80%, which will make the game significantly less punishing. So, if you find the game too hard or are only interested in the story, you can always choose to turn it on and have a better time. All of the damage resistance that you have accumulated through lost runs will be saved even if you end up turning God Mode off, so you don't have to worry about starting from scratch.
That is everything you need to know about God Mode in Hades 2. If you are not looking for a challenging experience but still want to experience the story and the visuals of the game, make sure to try out this difficulty setting. There is no shame in doing so, and as long as you are having fun, you are playing the game correctly. For more Hades 2 news and guides, make sure to check out the rest of our website!
