Last Epoch: Skill Level Cap and How to Get More Skill Points

Last Epoch 1.0 launched with an unprecedented level of build diversity for a fledgling ARPG, and key to this diversity are ability skill trees. Customizing your most powerful skills to suit your dream build is a massive part of min-maxing your character. So, how many points can you spend in each skill, and how can you increase this skill point cap? This article has your back.

Last Epoch Skill Trees

Last Epoch is unique in that, on top of regular skill trees for your character where you'll unlock basic abilities and key passives, every single ability in LE has its very own unique skill tree too.

This allows for extremely creative builds that are certain to keep theory crafters on their toes with every future update.

Last Epoch Skill Tree Points Cap

There is a cap on how many skill points you can spend in a single ability skill tree.

The base skill point cap is 20 on every ability, however, this cap can be increased through affixes. By equipping BiS affixes, some highly-refined builds are able to push their skill points cap as high as 30 with optimal gear.

Affixes granting additional levels to specific skills can be attached to Helmets, Body Armor, Relics, Uniques, and Gear Set Bonuses. Activating these affixes instantly grants you bonus points to spend in a given skill, exceeding the points cap if necessary.

If you unequip an item with a +Skill Point Affix, be aware that your cap will immediately decrease, and a number of your most recently skilled-up nodes in the skill tree will be lost (and highlighted in red next time you open the skill tree.)
