In Manor Lords, it is your job to make sure your settlement is running smoothly. You will not always do the best job and there will constantly be something you could do better for your people. Buying the right animals is one of the few things you can do that will help make your villagers’ lives a little easier.
Manor Lords is set in the Middle Ages and nothing about life during that dark time was simple. Everyone struggled and you had more chance to starve to death than survive until old age. As the ruling lord, you have to do your best to help your people. Purchasing oxen to save your villagers from lugging materials around is a step in the right direction.

How to Get Oxen in Manor Lords
You will not find oxen wandering the wilds in Manor Lords. You have to build a Livestock Trading Post and spend your precious wealth. You can also construct a Hitching Post or Small Stable and order your creatures of burden from there. Make sure you have available space for each new purchase. If they have nowhere to live, they will wander off.
They will cost you 20 Regional Wealth and you can only place an order once a month. This is because the trader will have to deliver the oxen to you and they only turn up at set times. It is unfair to have them running back and forth every few days if you order another animal in Manor Lords. They have lives of their own, don’t they?

What Oxen Are Used For in Manor Lords
Oxen are creatures of burden and your villagers will use them to move materials around your settlement. This will increase the speed of all construction and crafting. In Manor Lords, your people will automatically use oxen to move any timber but you can assign the animals to certain buildings, like Logging Camps, Woodcutter’s Lodge, or Farmhouses.
If you unlock the Heavy Plough Development, your farms will benefit and so will your crop. They will help get your fields ready for planting and assist when it comes to harvesting. Give your people a rest from carrying around heavy materials all day and let the oxen help. They will be thankful and a happy worker is a fast worker.
That’s everything you need to know about buying and using oxen in Manor Lords. As long as you have somewhere for them to live, buying a couple of extra oxen to speed up life in Manor Lords is always a good idea. They are worth the investment as long as you have the wealth to spare. Check out our other guides in Manor Lords below.
