Minecraft: New Biome and Mob

Minecraft is getting a creepy new forest biome and a scary mob that will stalk you while you're not looking! Mojang is leaning into the uncanny aspect of the game and adding an eerie update within the next several months. Alongside the biome, we'll also get new blocks and recipes with the newly obtained materials.

Pale Garden Biome

The Pale Garden looks like a greyer, foggy, creepy version of the mangrove forest, except there seem to be no inhabitants that you could tame or farm for resources. That is until the sun goes down. When darkness falls, you can see something lurking in the shadows and stalking you from behind the trees. As if the Pale Gardens weren't already scary-looking enough. Watch your back!

Creaking Mob

The Creaking monster resembles a tree-like mob that only appears at night. Once you hear the sounds of snapping twigs and grating wood, quickly look around for the deformed creature. It can't move while you're watching him and won't attack you as long as you're making eye contact. Killing the Creaking will require you to destroy its heart, which you can find nesting under a tree nearby.

New Blocks

The Creaking Heart isn't the only block you'll be able to take home as loot from your adventures in the Pale Garden. Much like any biome, you can find different kinds of flora growing in the lands. The Pale Garden sports a new type of pale oak, wispy pale moss that can spread and grow with bone meal, and silk-like hanging pale moss you can collect with shears or a Silk Touch enchanted tool.

New Recipes

You'll be able to craft the new wooden blocks into furniture and items with thirteen different new recipes, such as pale wood planks, stairs, boats, fences, pressure plates, doors, signs, and more! You can now remodel your base with the ghostly pale wood to add a touch of spook to your interior. Or combine it with the pink cherry wood planks for a pastel dream house - there are so many ways to go about the elegant pale oak.
