No Rest for the Wicked has quickly become one of the most interesting additions to the ARPG genre in the last few years. Even with some initial complaints about item durability, as well as the high punishment for dying, the developers already released a hotfix to address all of these issues, which shows us that the early access portion of the release will be very dynamic. With a combination of dense and vertical level design and a soulslike combat system, Moon Studios are going to try their best to reinvent the genre, making it more focused on the journey rather than the destination.
One other feature in No Rest for the Wicked that is not typical for the genre is the housing system, which allows players to purchase and decorate their own home. In this article, we are going to show you when and how you can get your first house in No Rest for the Wicked.

How to Purchase a House in No Rest for the Wicked
In order to unlock the ability to purchase a home in No Rest for the Wicked, you are going to have to defeat Falstead Darak in The Black Trench, which is the sewers level. You will naturally reach this point by just following the main storyline, and you can't really force this earlier on, so just keep progressing through the game. Once defeated, go back to the city of Sacrament, and you are going to be able to purchase your first home. There are currently 3 different houses that can be purchased, each with a different price, layout, and amount of space in them. Here are the three options you can choose from:
- The Manor - 30 Silver
- The Homestead - 25 Silver
- The Roost - 20 Silver
You will be able to find icons of all of these homes on the map of Sacrament, and we suggest going for either the Manor or the Homestead, as they are much closer to the Whisper fast travel point in the center of the town. These properties are going to remain on sale indefinitely, and you are able to purchase all of them if you want to; it's not a choice between them!

How Important is Purchasing a House in No Rest for the Wicked?
Purchasing your own home in No Rest for the Wicked is a great way to further customize your experience, as the game allows you to create different types of furniture and crafting stations that can be placed gridlessly anywhere inside your house. The two vendors that you are going to need in order to customize your house in No Rest for the Wicked are Danos, who can be found at the north of the town square, and Whittacker, who stands at the northern side of the marketplace. Both of these vendors will provide you with everything you need to turn your house into a home.
The game also has a ton of inventory pressure, with all of the different loot, resources, and crafting materials, so being able to add a couple of chests for storage is going to go a long way. You can purchase new chests from Whittacker, and by upgrading his shop, you will gain access to new stashes with even more space.
That is everything you need to know about unlocking and customizing your own home in No Rest for the Wicked. If you are interested in playing around with furniture and making a cozy-looking home, the game provides you with all of the tools you might need, which is quite surprising for an ARPG.
