Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl How To Start The Poppy Field Quest
To begin the Poppy Field quest in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you'll need to find the NPC called Pomor. He'll be sitting inside the house there, talking to the Zalissya trader, also known as Hamster. Interact with him, and he'll ask you to bring back the Religious Icon from his house's roof cellar, which is located in the Poppy Field, hence the name of the mission.
Accept the task and open your map to see the quest marker for the area. Keep in mind that the Poppy Field is extremely dangerous, so you'll have to carefully choose how you'll continue forward. Your first option would be to pay Pomor 2,000 Coupons and get the exact location of the Root Cellar. The other method is to finish a task for Pomor in exchange for the same information. Your last choice is to find the Root Cellar by yourself. In any case, don't forget to bring water with you on this trip; you'll need a lot of it to stay conscious.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Root Cellar & Pomor's Stash
The first thing you need to know is that you should never give Pomor any money to reveal the location of the Root Cellar. This is too expensive, and you can get the same information by looking at the image above the map without spending a penny. Go to the Poppy Field and walk towards the western end of the area. Soon, you'll come across an open hatch. This will lead you to the Root Cellar. Enter it and get the Religious Icon from the shelf.
However, if you decide to complete a task for Pomor, you'll have to collect a few broken guns and bullets from the dead bodies in the Field. The good news is that the corpses are marked on the map. Once you exit his shack, go towards the northwest part to find the first body. Enter the barn and loot the second soldier after taking the energy drinks next to him. The third body is located left of the barn, and the fifth one isn't mandatory to complete the task, so you can just skip it.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Should You Sell The Religious Icon
No matter what you choose to do, sooner or later you'll end up with the Religious Icon in your inventory. After this happens, Pomor will talk to you, and you need to remind him of the deal to give you a special weapon for your service. Giving him the Religious Icon will provide you with the Unknown Stalker's AR416.
Unfortunately, it will be in terrible condition, and you'll need to spend a fortune to have it repaired by a Technician. Thankfully, you can ignore this option and simply give the Religious Icon to Mityay and get 1,350 Coupons instead. You can also choose to do both by completing the following steps:
- Return to Pomor and accept his offer.
- Complete the Poppy Field quest and shoot Pomor.
- Loot his body and get the Religious Icon back.
- Return to the Zalissya base and give Mityay the Religious Icon.
