Baldur's Gate 3 just recently celebrated its first anniversary, and with Larian Studios moving to their next big project, it was a great decision for one of the last major patches to include modding support. Adding mod support to a game as replayable as this is going to allow the community to keep it fresh for many more years to come. While this update was added a while ago for PC users, it only recently unlocked mod support for consoles, with both PlayStation and Xbox users now being able to partake in the chaos that is the modding scene. For this reason, we have decided to list the 10 best Baldur's Gate 3 mods that you should try, which can be used both on PC and on consoles!

Best Baldur's Gate 3 Mods
Since the mods for the console versions of Baldur's Gate 3 are a bit more strict and have to be approved by their respective platforms, we are only going to go through mods that are already available for PlayStation and Xbox users. Here is our list for the 10 best Baldur's Gate 3 mods:
ImpUI (Improved UI)
Creator - Djmr (link)
ImpUI (Improved UI) is the most important mod you need to download in Baldur's Gate 3. While by itself it doesn't make any real changes to your game, it allows for your game to be tweaked much more by other mods. If you browse around many of the most popular mods for the game, you are going to see that all of them are dependent on you having ImpUI installed; otherwise, they will not be able to work. Make sure you download ImpUI before you start browsing for any other mods!

Adjustable Party Limit
Creator - PixellBytes (link)
Our next recommendation is for players who are annoyed that the maximum party limit of the game is 4. By using the Adjustable Party Limit mod, you can have up to 16 allies in your active party at the same time. While this might make combat a bit too easy, it will remove the need to travel back to camp to swap your companions for their respective quests. Some players also enjoy this mod because it allows them to play like the first two games in the series, with a maximum of 6 party members. Definitely one of the best mods that are currently available!

Carry_Weight_Extra
Creator - Lost_Soul_Man (link)
If you are a loot goblin like me, scouring every single container in the game (even though most of them are empty), then Carry_Weight_Extra is the perfect mod for you. Using this mod will greatly increase the amount of weight your characters can hold in their inventories, removing the annoying micromanagement part of every playthrough. Keep in mind that this will not help you find specific items in your inventory any faster!

FaerunColors
Creator - TechRoot (link)
FaerunColors is our first Baldur's Gate 3 mod recommendation that increases the amount of customization that you can do to your characters. This mod will provide you with over 80 new dye options for your armor, with most of them being themed around deities and famous entities from Faerun. Fashion is always important in RPGs, and this is definitely one of the best mods in that regard.

Underwear of Rituals
Creator - Xelphos (link)
While the name of this mod made me raise an eyebrow initially, once I learned how it actually works, it quickly became one of the best additions to my current playthrough. Downloading this mod will allow you to get the Underwear of Rituals, which is an in-game item (yes, it's underwear) that will allow you to use the Speak with Dead, Speak with Animals, Detect Thoughts, and Disguise Self abilities. All of these abilities are usually very useful outside of combat, but they require you to use skill points or certain items in order to use them. With this mod, you will always have them on your character, which makes things much simpler. Here are locations where you can find this item once you download the mod:
- Tutorial Chest: On the Nautiloid
- Arron: Merchant in the Druids Grove (Act 1)
- Derryth Bonecloak: Myconid Colony (Act 1 Underdark), Bonecloak's Apothecary (Act 3)
- Quartermaster Talli: Last Light Inn (Act 2)
- Entharl Danthelon: Danthelon's Dancing Axe (Act 3 Wyrm's Crossing)

HairUnlocked
Creator - ShaneH147 (link)
Our second cosmetic mod recommendation for Baldur's Gate 3 is HairUnlocked. This mod does precisely what its name implies: it unlocks 30 different hairstyles that are usually used by unique NPCs in the game. If you want to rock Karlach, Halsin, or even Shadowheart's hairstyles, this is the mod for you. Having more options is always great, and I highly recommend trying out this mod the next time you start a new playthrough.

Better Target Info
Creator - Caites (link)
Better Target Info is an amazing mod that gives you much more information on your screen about anything you might be targeting. When targeting an enemy, you can see their resistances under their health bar; when targeting a chest, you can see how many items are inside of it, and much more. If you are one of the people who keeps inspecting enemies in order to get some more information on how to defeat them, this mod is going to save you a lot of time in the long run. Definitely a must for the more tactical side of the playerbase!

Inspirations Uncapped
Creator - RealityThreek (link)
Are you tired of rolling low on every single conversation? Are the 4 inspiration charges you saved not enough to convince Shadowheart to have a drink with you? If this is you, then the Inspirations Uncapped mod is going to give you the opportunity to freely reroll as many times as you wish, allowing you to pass any conversation check eventually.

DoubleXP
Creator - ReshiArdus (link)
The DoubleXP mod is just what it says – it gives you double the experience from all sources. While this might make the game a bit trivial in terms of combat, some players want to get their Fireball as fast as possible, which is a respectable choice. If you want to steamroll through the game or the combat is just not for you, grab the DoubleXP mod and go ham!

Dice Skins
Creator - elliegreenart (link)
Our final recommendation is not really one mod, but one of the many different dice skins mods that are made by elliegreenart. From a stained glass die to themed Shar and Selune dice, there are more than 20 different options that are available for you to use. The standard ones are nice, but they get old after a while, and a new skin for your dice might be just the thing you need to give your next playthrough a bit more flavor.
Those were all of the best Baldur's Gate 3 mods that we recommend for you to try in your next playthrough. From cosmetic enhancements to some slightly game-breaking quality-of-life improvements, we hope that this list will make your next run much more enjoyable.
