The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.2 dropped on July 11, 2024, and we are all happy to have the opportunity to play an improved version of the game we have already been obsessed with since day one. Although the previous update did deliver some necessary improvements, Hotfix 1.0.2 is even better when it comes to that since it took into consideration a huge amount of requests from the community.
Fans were anticipating the matchmaking feature to be added to Hard Mode in The First Descendant for a long time, and the developers did not disappoint. Not only did they add the option we wanted, but they also made a lot of improvements in terms of optimization, modules, and characters. Let's see what the community has to say after the release of Hotfix 1.0.2.

The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.2 Reviews
Despite the mixed reviews for The First Descendant, both critics and fans agreed that Hotfix 1.0.2 is a huge success, especially considering the fact that Nexon Games has a bit of a controversial reputation for releasing games and abandoning them almost immediately. Everyone was quick to comment on multiple platforms about how excited they were to see Hotfix 1.0.2.
While this does not undo Nexon's reputation for releasing and abandoning games, this is a huge step towards proving that they actually want to properly support this game.

Many players commented below the post, saying that they are pleased to see the developers paying attention to community feedback and that their excitement for the game's future is now only growing. There were some comments prior to the update stating that players will not even try to reach the end game because there are too many issues that need to be fixed. However, this is no longer the case.

The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.2 Player Recommendations
As with any other game, The First Descendant still has a lot of aspects to improve. Players are still complaining about the greedy microtransactions in the game and Nexon's history of aggressive monetization strategies. However, although the community is still asking for this problem to be fixed, people are now more willing to overlook this aspect because of all the new changes that were introduced to the game with Hotfix 1.0.2.
There were some additional recommendations about creating a system to deal with AFK players who only start moving at the end of the mission to collect the rewards that other people have earned. Neither of these issues has been addressed yet, but the community remains hopeful that Nexon Games will continue paying attention to feedback and improving the game.
