Blizzard has finally decided to remaster its iconic RTS games which fostered an incredibly rich world, full of amazing characters, unforgettable stories, and a fantastic atmosphere. Yes, Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness is getting a remaster, given how successful the Starcraft one was.

Not only did the sequel build upon its predecessor but also included vital Warcraft lore that further set up its next very successful iteration, Warcraft III. Having that in mind, we will take a look at everything we know about the new Warcraft II remaster.

Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness Remaster

Not only are the graphics upscaled, but the remaster includes hand-drawn visuals, further showcasing just how much love and passion went into the game. As per the official announcement from the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, players will be able to swap between the Remastered and original graphics in real-time, similar to the Starcraft Remaster.

The remaster was also updated with modern controls, as well as faster game speed, making the age-old RTS feel more like the standard real-time strategy games we know and love today. Warcraft II will be multiplayer, and all previous custom maps will be compatible so we might see a competitive resurgence.
