This is Blizzard's take on battle royale games in the realm of World of Warcraft. It seems that players will be able participate both in PvP and PvE activities where you will spawn on a map with many enemies to defeat and treasures to find.
The pirate-themed event will have players experiencing the nautical lifestyle by plundering relics where you can customize a character specifically for the event. There will be no fall damage along with some other tweaks to the base World of Warcraft experience.

WoW Plunderstorm Event Experience
You will start fresh with a new character specifically for the event where you can try out a lot of new abilities that are not typical for World of Warcraft. There will be no classes as you will need to create a new kit for each match.
What's interesting is that auto attacks will be similar to an ability as the core gameplay will have a much simpler UI as well the loot will automatically moved to your action bar. You will enter an arena with 60 players in total so you will be facing a lot of danger from every direction.
How to Play Plunderstorm in WoW
Instead of accessing the main game, you will have a separate menu where you can queue up for a match. The Plunderstorm event will be available to all players with an active subscription, regardless which expansions you own.
There will be separate queues for solo players and duo players as you can pair up with a buddy. You can also revive your teammates by standing next to them. As per the developers, they have spent resources and time to make the mode fun and fair for everyone.
