The brand new pirate-themed event Plunderstorm is in full force as many players are trying out this battle royale-inspired clash. With the majority of the community enjoying this new and rather odd approach by Blizzard, some players were quick to report some unfavorable or unfun aspects.

With that being said, Blizzard was quick to implement some hotfixes to make the experience more enjoyable for everyone so we will take a look at all of the changes so far to the Plunderstorm limited-time event.

According to the most recent blue post, the devs were quick to identify that players were not receiving enough Plunder to increase their Renown levels and get those sweet new rewards.

With hotfixes that we’ve just made live to all regions, we’ve increased the amount of plunder that you’ll earn in a match of Plunderstorm, and the increases are nearly across the board:

  • Plunder dropped by other players significantly increased.*
  • Plunder from non-player enemies increased by 50%.
  • Plunder from golden chests doubled.
  • Top placement in a match now rewards 500 Plunder (was 100).

This is a welcome change as some players provided feedback that they could not progress fast enough without the event seeming like a grind experience instead of having fun and being rewarded for it.

And that is everything you need to know so far about the recent Plunderstorm hotfixes. We will make sure to actively monitor the community for any other changes as the devs are open to feedback from players given the experimental nature of this event.
