WoW The War Within: Everything About Delves Explained

With the release of WoW The War Within, there's lots of new content to explore. Blizzard devs bring to us a new endgame feature called Delves. What Are Delves?

Delves are short solo scenarios similar to mini-dungeons that can be completed in about 10 to 20 minutes. Unlike other WoW dungeons or raids, delves have no time limits, allowing players to progress at their own pace and take their time. These adventures can be tackled solo or with a group of up to five players. The difficulty scales with the number of players. The bigger the party - the harder the challenge. 

Delves can be found in the new WoW The War Within area of Caz Algar. Currently, there are 13 different delves available, each offering unique challenges, objectives, and mechanics. Players can solve puzzles and traps, use objects like candles for light or totems for protection, and much more. Delves are a truly unique experience in World of Warcraft.

What are Delve Companions?

If you want to take up the challenges of delves in WoW, but you can't find five players to join you, a seasonal NPC companion will tag along. This companion can be assigned to either a Combat or Healer role, depending on your group's needs. You can even customize their abilities with Combat and Utility trinkets, which can be changed during the Delve. As you complete more Delves, your companion gains experience, improving their utility for all members of your Warband. This means that with every challenge they will get better and better!

How to Unlock Delve Tiers?

Delves start at Tier 1. Higher tiers will be unlocked as you finish the previous one. At the beginning only the first three tiers are available, but as you reach level 80 and meet specific gear requirements, higher tiers up to Tier 11 become accessible. The higher the tier, the harder the challenge! 

Where to Find Delves?

In The War Within, players can find Delves all over various regions, including the Isle of Dorn, Hallowfall, The Ringing Deeps, and Azj-Kahet. As we already mentioned, there will be different challenges, puzzles, enemies, loot and so on.

The Delver's Guide helps you keep track of your progress and offers valuable information about your seasonal companion.

Delve Rewards 

Delves will get The War Within players some amazing high-level gear, equivalent to Heroic or Mythic+ gear at higher tiers. This is great for everyone! The rewards will get better as the difficulty progresses. Completing Delves contributes to your progress in the Great Vault system. Special rewards include the customizable Delver's Dirigible mount, the Ivory Goliathus mount from the meta-achievement, and various cosmetic items.

What Are Bountiful Delves?

At level 80, you can unlock Bountiful Delves, which have even better rewards than regular delves. To access these, you'll need to get a Restored Coffer Key, which can be earned through various in-game activities or purchased from vendors. The location of Bountiful Delves rotates, so check your map regularly to find the current one.

What Are Delve Boons?

Boons are temporary buffs available in The War Within delves. They will boost the team's abilities for the duration of the challenge. You can find them by defeating certain enemies or interacting with unusual objects within the Delve.
