What Are Governing & Tuning Stones in Diablo 4 Season 3
Governing and Tuning Stones are the main way to customize your Seneschal Construct in Diablo 4 Season 3. There is a total of 12 Governing Stones and 27 Tuning Stones of different rarities that you are going to be able to find by doing Arcane Tremors and Vault Dungeons.
Governing Stones represent different abilities that your Seneschal Construct will be able to use, while Tuning Stones will be modifiers you can add on top of those abilities. For the full list of Governing and Tuning Stones, you can go here.

How to Level Governing & Tuning Stones in Diablo 4 Season 3
Both Governing and Tuning Stones can be leveled up, improving their capabilities in both their effects and the numbers tied to their damage, healing, and barriers. Each of these Stones has 10 ranks of levels that you can upgrade, with the exception of the two Unique Stones, which only have a single rank. You can find all of this information by opening up the Seneschal Construct page in your character's inventory.
The way to level up these Stones is by picking up duplicates from the ground, each of which will grant a certain amount of experience towards the next rank. There are a few methods of obtaining Governing and Tuning Stones in Season 3:
- Dropped from Heralds of Malphas in Arcane Tremors
- Dropped from Wardwoven Chests at the end of Vaults
- Dropped from the Malphas boss fight in the Vault of the Loom
There is currently no way to target-farm specific Stones, and even upon reaching their max level, duplicates will still continue to drop. We hope that Blizzard addresses this in a future patch or hotfix.
And that's everything you need to know about obtaining and leveling up the new Governing and Tuning Stones in Diablo 4 Season 3. With the current tuning of the season, it will take a significant amount of time for you to level all of your Stones to their max levels, and we expect Blizzard to address this in a future update.
