Much like most of the systems in the game, Dragon's Dogma 2 has its own take on an RPG class system, with 10 different Vocations available for players to try out. Four of these Vocations can be used at the start of the game, while 6 others have to be unlocked through specific quests around the world. You are able to individually level up all of these Vocations, which will in turn unlock some new Augments that you can use, no matter which one you choose to main.
With the game giving you very little hints as to where you are able to find and unlock these Vocations, we have decided to show you the exact locations and quests required in order to do so. In this article, we are going to go over the Mystic Spearhand Vocation, showcasing where you can find and unlock it in the world of Dragon's Dogma 2.

Dragon's Dogma 2: How to Unlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocation
Aside from the starting Vocations, the Mystic Spearhand is one of the first classes that you will be able to unlock in Dragon's Dogma 2. If you are looking for fast-paced melee action with a lot of mobility, here is how you can add it to your repertoire. Unlocking the Mystic Spearhand Vocation requires you to complete the "Readvent of Calamity" quest, which will only become available after you progress enough through the main story of the game.
The point at which it becomes available is after completing the "Monster Culling" quest which you will receive from Captain Brant in Vernworth. This is a main-story quest which requires you to go to 3 different locations and help soldiers defeat goblins, saurians, and bandits.

Now that you have successfully completed the "Monster Culling" main-story quest, you can start working towards the Mystic Spearhand Vocation. In order to do so, you will have to go back to one of the earlier towns in the game, Melve. You can do this by either taking the Ox Cart from Vernworth or by going back on foot. Once you return to the city, the "Readvent of Calamity" quest will trigger, and the city will be attacked by a huge Dragon. Don't be afraid of engaging the Dragon, as this is a scripted event, and once you deal enough damage, it will fly away.
After the Dragon flies away, you will be able to find a new NPC, called Sigurd, in Melve. You should be able to easily find him around you, as he is the only NPC with a hood and Duospear in the vicinity. By speaking to him, you will be able to unlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocation for your character. Keep in mind that this quest has some issues triggering from time to time, so you might need to go back and forth from Vernworth to Melve before it finally begins.
Mystic Spearhand Unlock Summary:
- Available after completing the "Monster Culling" main-story quest from Captain Brant.
- Travel back to Melve and defeat the Dragon attacking the village. (Due to a bug, you might need a few attempts to trigger the Dragon assault)
- Speak to Sigurd in Melve and unlock the Vocation.
That covers everything you need to know about unlocking the Mystic Spearhand Vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2. If you are interested in a mobile, melee Vocation that deals a ton of damage, make sure to unlock it as soon as possible.
