Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Sir Ansbach Location
You will find Sir Ansbach by the big Miquella Cross right outside of Belurat, the first major dungeon you'll see in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Go through the castle gates, turn left, and look around for a little bluff. Here, you will meet Sir Ansbach and Moore. The latter is the shopkeep at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace, and Sir Ansbach is a former servant to Lord Mohg. He will tell you about his research concerning Miquella's Crosses, and he'll ask you to visit them and report back your discoveries.
Although this part of the quest is not mandatory, it will play a bit into the quest of Hornsent, another NPC. He will show you the locations of some hidden Miquella Crosses, and if you report back to Sir Ansbach, you will get additional lore. In any case, once you have spoken to Sir Ansbach, you can progress through the main story until the great rune breaks outside of Shadow Keep.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Sir Ansbach & Shadow Keep
Once you get close to the Shadow Keep in Scadu Altus, you will get a message that the great rune has broken. Don't worry, this is supposed to happen. Return to Ansbach and talk to him until you exhaust the conversation. If you rest, he'll disappear, but you'll run into him again on the first floor of the Specimen Storehouse area in Shadow Keep.
In order to reach Ansbach's research nook, go forward from the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace, walk past the great beast, up the stairs on your left, and then look next to the first book shelf. You will see him reading in the corner. Exhaust the dialogue again and continue through the Storehouse.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Where Is The Secret Rite Scroll
The Secret Rite Scroll is located at the Shadow Keep Specimen Storehouse. You need to reach the Storehouse, Fourth Floor Site of Grace, turn left, and follow the path past the burning boats. Take the next flight of stairs and go left; you'll find another staircase leading down, away from the main path.
Use the stairs and take out any enemies that pop up on the way. Once you land below, enter the nearby doorway, and you'll find yourself in a small research library. Move towards the edge carefully, and you'll spot a table and a purple pillar of light. Interact with it, and you'll get the Secret Rite Scroll.

Now that you have acquired the Secret Rite Scroll, go back to Sir Ansbach on the first floor and talk to him. You will have the option to hand it over. Give him the Scroll, and he'll learn that Lord Mohg's body has been stolen, and Miquella has a whole plan for it.
Finish your conversation with Sir Ansbach and continue the quest. Now it's time to help Redmane Freyja, who is another NPC in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Even though she has her own separate questline, she is a part of this one as well.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree How To Get Redmane Freyja's Letter From Sir Ansbach
You can talk to Freyja at the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace in Gravesite Plain to send her to Shadow Keep. She will be on the seventh floor of the Specimen Storehouse, behind the site of grace. You will see her sitting by the fireplace by herself, looking through some objects and mumbling something under her breath.
If you try to talk to her and she tells you she's busy, don't give up. She will soon start complaining about not having spoken to Ansbach when she's had the chance. Go back to him and tell him about Freyja's frustrations and suffering. Use the opportunity to rest again, then return to Ansbach, and he'll give you a letter meant for Freyja.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Ansbach & Leda
In case Sir Ansbach did not want to give you the letter, talk to Freyja again and return to him. Bring her the piece of writing to progress her quest and exhaust her dialogue. She'll give you the Golden Lion Shield, and you have to go inform Ansbach about her gesture. Once this is done, go visit Leda at the Highroad Cross Site of Grace, outside of Castle Ensis. She'll eventually reveal that it's time to hunt down Ansbach.
However, when you return to Shadow Keep, you will find only two summon markers - one red and one gold. If you want to end Anbach's quest, move past the red summon marker and interact with the gold one. You will be teleported back to an arena inside the Specimen Storehouse; Ansbach and Leda will be there, and you should work with him to defeat her together. When you return to your own world, you will receive Ansbach's Longbow and Leda's Rune. For more information about Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, you can check out this article.
