Ash Echoes is the newest gacha game to hit the market, and it is definitely one unique game. It offers thrilling RTS-type gameplay, giving you almost full control over a total of 4 characters, or Echomancers, as they’re known in the world of Ash Echoes. There are a total of 44 Echomancers you can obtain in Ash Echoes, and the best way to obtain new characters is through the game’s gacha system, otherwise known as the Spirit Dive system. This guide will teach you how to unlock the spirit dive system and what you need to summon for new characters!

How to Unlock the Gacha
The Spirit Dive system in Ash Echoes is unlocked early on. As you start making your way through the prologue of the game, you will unlock the Spirit Dive after completing stage S0-4 [Joint Ops]. After completing this stage the game will automatically thrust you into the gacha tutorial and have you do your first pulls, while also giving you a copy of the 5-star character Yuqi. After this, you will have permanently unlocked the gacha system and can continue summoning or playing through the game.

How to Summon
To summon in Ash Echoes, you will need a currency known as Resonance Clue. These Resonance Clues items are your wishing items for Ash Echoes, and you can obtain them through various means all throughout the game. In addition, you can also purchase 1 Resonance Clue for 300 X Particles, which means that a ten-pull in Ash Echoes will cost you 3000 X Particles.
Once you have enough Resonance Clues or X Particles, you can open the Spirit Dive menu by first going to the home screen and looking for it on the bottom left. Once at the Spirit Dive menu, you can choose one of the various banners that are currently available and summon on that. You will get a discount for your first 10 pulls on the current Targeted Resonance banner known as [Gleaming Light], so even if you’re not planning on pulling for Cen Ying, we still advise doing your first 10 pulls there to start building pity for the future.

Gacha Pity and Rates
The Ash Echoes gacha system is not the most generous, but it is also not as brutal as that of other games. To guarantee the highest rank of Echomancer, the highly sought-after 6-star Echomancer, you will need to spend 77 Resonance Clues. The reason the wishes required are 77, and not a rounded number like 80, is because the pity system in Ash Echoes works a bit differently than normal. In Ash Echoes, you have a standard 1.2% chance of getting a 6-star Echomancer with each pull. When you reach 60 pulls, this rate is increased by 6% with each consecutive pull. To get to 100% of summoning a 6-star Echomancer, you’ll need to spend a total of 77 pulls. In addition, if you’re pulling on Targeted Resonance banners, you will also be faced with a 50/50 mechanic that can often be encountered in other gacha games, such as Zenless Zone Zero, Reverse: 1999, etc.
That being said, a pity of 77 and a 1.2% chance for a 6-star are not all that bad. The game has been proven to be quite generous on its release, so it’s interesting to see if this will continue for future releases. With that out of the way, below you can find a breakdown of the full rates for all 6-star, 5-star, and 4-star Echomancers.
Character Rarity | Probability |
6-star Echomancers | 1.2% |
5-star Echomancers | 7.0% |
4-star Echomancers | 91.8% |
