The League of Legends 2024 Mid-Season Invitational Bracket Stage has begun with everything on the line for the remaining 8 teams. This stage will include a single Bo5 double-elimination format so we can expect a banger series from the get-go.
With that being said, we will be taking a look at the second Bo5 series between the LEC second seed- Fnatic as they will face the LCK first seed- Gen.G.
Although most fans and analysts predict the LPL and LCK to dominate the tournament, a recent interview with the top laner for TES, 369, stated how much the Western players have improved in comparison to their last year's performance.

We will go through all of the games that were played out, as well as the champion picks.
Game 1 GEN vs FNC 1-0
GEN | Role | FNC |
Kiin | TOP | Oscarinin |
Canyon | JNG | Razork |
Chovy | MID | Humanoid |
Peyz | BOT | Noah |
Lehends | SUP | Jun |
A very aggressive bot lane on the side of GEN, FNC was able to punish overextensions, and with a great roam by Humanoid, the LEC team was able to equalize the game state early into the match.
A fantastic punish on the side of FNC allowed them to set the stage for dragon soul point, however, GEN was able to catch out Razork, ultimately restoring their lead in the game.
However, a couple of bad team fights allowed GEN to very quickly pick up the pace by securing Baron and choking FNC out of options for a comeback, ultimately winning the first game in the Bo5.

Game 2 GEN vs FNC 2-0
FNC | Role | GEN |
Oscarinin | TOP | Kiin |
Razork | JNG | Canyon |
Humanoid | MID | Chovy |
Noah | BOT | Peyz |
Jun | SUP | Lehends |
Game 2 started rather chaotically as Canyon's Kha'Zix was able to secure first blood and Pey'z Draven got a huge gold lead, quickly establishing a massive lead. Although FNC was able to fight back by securing a kill on Chovy, but the immediate response from GEN quickly vanquished any chance of equalizing the game state.
After catching Canyon, FNC attempted to take Baron, however, GEN was able to strike back and take the objective for themselves. Surprisingly, Canyon was always caught by FNC, allowing FNC to fight in 4v5, however, the damage of Draven and Aurelion Sol was too much for the LEC team to handle.
Forty minutes into the game, with a 10K Gold lead for GEN, FNC still held their ground. However, the scaling Aurelion Sol was too much to handle, ultimately placing GEN at match point 2-0 in the series.
Game 3 GEN vs FNC 3-0
FNC | Role | GEN |
Oscarinin | TOP | Kiin |
Razork | JNG | Canyon |
Humanoid | MID | Chovy |
Noah | BOT | Peyz |
Jun | SUP | Lehends |
The early game was marked with a very aggressive FNC as the players were very confident in their plays, punishing overextensions and even getting crucial gold onto their carries. A very bloody game 3, both teams were constantly fighting, however, FNC was overly aggressive, underestimating GEN's team fighting skills.
As the game went on, FNC found themselves with their backs against the wall, as GEN slowly started bleeding them out, claiming turrets and objectives, destroying almost all hope of the LEC team.
With GEN securing a clean 3-0 win over FNC, the LCK first seed advances further into the Upper Bracket where they will face TES. With FNC now slotted in the Lower Bracket, there is a chance they recover from this defeat and adapt to the meta.
