WoW SoD Phase 6 Release Date and Schedule
Following a big announcement for the upcoming Phase 6 of World of Warcraft's Season of Discovery, many players were thrilled to find out that the WoW Vanilla endgame content is almost at its end with Naxxramas peeping around the corner. Nonetheless, the community will get the opportunity to bang the gong to open the way to Ahn'Qiraj.
With that in mind, here’s what you can look forward to in the weeks to come:
- November 12: Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline opens with regional resets.
- November 21: Ahn’Qiraj War Effort begins at 1:00 pm PST globally.
- November 29: The War Effort ends.
- December 4: The war heralding the arrival of Anubisath and the qiraji warriors begins.
- December 6: Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Nightmare Grove Open.
This time around, players will have more time to prepare to get their hands on the incredibly rare Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal.

Season of Discovery Phase 6 Content
This time around, SoD will not drastically change things with respect to the WoW Vanilla iteration of the massive event and raid. Here are some key differences you can expect once Phase 6 goes live:
-
AQ20 will be 10-20 players while AQ40 will be 20-40 players
-
AQ20 will reset twice a week
-
Dragons of Nightmare will be instanced, meaning you can defeat all four in a single instance
Among these changes, a new reward system will be added where players can unlock challenging mechanics for better loot by turning in their rewards! Keep in mind that too many deaths will net you no rewards, so we can expect a lot of guilds to disband over how greedy they get. For more information, you can check out the official announcement, here.
And that covers the most important aspects you need to know about the release of Phase 6 for World of Warcraft Season of Discovery. Best of luck on your runs, and remember to have fun!
