One of the big differences between the original game and Hades 2 is the sheer amount of resources that you can now gather, which can be used to upgrade Melinoe's capabilities as well as add some new features in your next runs. While the most important of these are definitely Psyche and Ashes, which are needed in order to unlock and add Arcana Cards, there are some higher-tier ones that can be used to further customize your abilities and weapons in the later stages of the game. The game has many tiers of unlockables, and it's going to take a while before you have fully unlocked Melinoe's true potential in Hades 2.

One of these high-tier resources is called Moon Dust, and once you have played through the first few hours of the game, you are going to find yourself needing a lot of it in order to continue progressing through the game. Here is everything you need to know about Moon Dust in Hades 2!

Hades 2: What is Moon Dust?

Moon Dust is a rare resource that is used to upgrade your Arcana Cards, making them more effective without increasing the amount of Grasp that is required. This resource is a lot harder to obtain, but it's also extremely powerful, as some of the Arcana Card upgrades get doubled or even tripled in effectiveness. For example, the Death Defiance Arcana Card can go from 1 charge all the way to 3 without increasing its required Grasp in order to use it. Going from full level 1 Arcana Cards to full level 3 Arcana Cards is going to be a huge power spike in the game, so it's very important to get as much Moon Dust as possible.

Hades 2: How to Get Moon Dust

Moon Dust is a bit harder to obtain compared to some of the earlier resources in the game. There are only a few ways to get it, and all of them are either quite expensive or will require you to have successful runs through the game. One way you can get Moon Dust is by buying it from the Wretched Broker for Bones. There are also two Cauldron incantations that will allow you to brew Moon Dust, one of them requiring some Cinder and Shadow and the other one needing Star Dust, which is a resource you can obtain from the Chaos Trials.

There are also a few other ways to get more Moon Dust, such as Charon's Shop before the final fight with Chronos, but that is not really something you should be aiming to do. Here is a quick overview of where you can find Moon Dust in Hades 2:

  • Can be bought from the Wretched Broker for 80 Bones.
  • Can be bought from Charon's Shop before the final fight.
  • Can be brewed in the Cauldron for 1x Cinder and 1x Shadow.
  • Can be brewed in the Cauldron for 1x Star Dust.
