Like many other games, Path of Exile 2 offers plenty of thrilling quests for all players to enjoy and get some awesome benefits. Moreover, completing missions is hands down the best way to progress through the new title, as it will bring you a lot of XP and, of course, a lot of money to spend on items, gear, and weapons.

By participating in these challenges you'll also earn free rewards, and the Treasures of Utzaal mission is no different. In this guide, we'll show you how to start and finish the Treasures of Utzaal quest in Path of Exile 2, so you can become one of the best players out there. Let's get started!

Path of Exile 2 Molten Vault Location

The main objective of the Treasures of Utzaal quest in Path of Exile 2 is to find the Molten Vault. It's located right inside the Drowned City in Act 3. However, before getting there, you need to drain all the water from the base of the Ziggurat Encampment. The good news is that you'll have to do that anyway because it's part of the main storyline, so better sooner than later, right?

It's worth mentioning that all maps in the game are randomly generated, so the exact location of the Molten Vault will be different for each player. This shouldn't bother you because once you reach one edge of the map and explore it, you'll notice the entrance very fast. You'll know that you've found it when you get prompted to summon Oswald. Once you see the blue portal, you're right where you need to be.

Once you get inside, try to clear out the Molten Vault as soon as possible. First, make sure to kill Mektul the Forgemaster. He's one of the bosses in Path of Exile 2, and at least he isn't difficult to find. When you see the huge pool of molten gold, you'll notice him banging at the barrier to try to keep the gold where it is.

However, you need to understand that pure strength and skill won't be enough to defeat Mektul the Forgemaster; you'll need to have the best gear possible. Moreover, keep in mind that when you start the battle, the gold will start sliding towards you, which will force you to constantly retreat. That's why we recommend killing the boss fast; otherwise, you will be melted alive.

Melee characters will have the most trouble beating this enemy, but his attacks are slow, which will give you enough time to dodge in most cases. Avoid his hits and attack him while he's getting ready to deliver another blow. Have fun and good luck on your next adventure!
