One of the most anticipated titles this year, No Rest for the Wicked looks to innovate the Action-RPG genre. A lot of hype is starting to build around the game, as Moon Studios has always wanted to create an RPG game and it seems that the devs are seeking to deliver their own take.
Not only does No Rest for the Wicked seek to bring some much-needed competition to the top-down RPG games but it also brings new life to the genre by implementing a soulslike system for combat and boss fights.
In addition to that, players are asking whether the game will also include co-op multiplayer and how that will look given the re-imagined perspective of ARPGs. We will look deeper into what we can expect once the game enters Early Access on April 18, 2024.

No Rest for the Wicked: Multiplayer
It is confirmed that the game will have 4 player co-op multiplayer as stated by the devs. Although co-op will not be available once the game enters Early Access, players can expect multiplayer once Update 1 rolls out.
Although some players might be frustrated that the game will not have multiplayer immediately, it is far more important for Moon Studios to create a refined co-op environment so that players will be able to play with friends and randoms without much friction.
Once a realm is created, players will be able to enter it and no one will be restrained to stick with the group, but rather you will be able to explore on your own and do your own things which will add a lot of freedom to the gameplay.

No Rest for the Wicked: Co-Op Details
A recent forum discussion about No Rest for the Wicked co-op prompted one of the devs to respond to questions from the community. We will take a look at what we can expect once multiplayer is added to the game.
From what we know so far, enemies' health and damage will scale based on how many players are in the area. The number of enemies will also increase based on the number of players.
There are no plans for implementing local co-op at this time, although the dev hints that it become a reality in the future. We also received confirmation that everything that gets designed in the game takes multiplayer into account as well.

Given the wording, we can also expect a more lenient approach to multiplayer as it seems that characters of any level will be able to join others so ultimately it will be up to the players as to who they will want to invite into their realms.
We also know that there will be revive mechanics in the game so that will certainly prevent some frustration when encountering very difficult enemies. No Rest for the Wicked is on the path to be a phenomenal game.
And that is everything we know so far about multiplayer and co-op in No Rest for the Wicked. As Early Access slowly approaches, we will make sure to look out for more details and insight into the game so that you can have clear expectations as to what to expect.
